Everybody says that life offers us many choices and even opportunities

But who guides us to take the proper decision regarding the choices available?

This is a million-dollar question.

Sages go even one step further and declare that your life is a result of the choices you make.

“Choices are abundant, it is the right decision which is the rare one!”
Mehmet Murat ildan

The blame game goes to…

“Blame is a beautiful thing, baby. Blame keeps this whole planet spinning. You can point your finger at the next man, you can shift the weight onto him, you don’t have to carry that shit around yourself. You can slide into bed and get a good night’s nap. Yeah, right.

Narrator-Augustus Hill ( played by Harold Perrineau) from Oz tv series

Irrespective of whether you make choice or not, you are ready to blame others for all the misfortune that is befalling you.

You blame the time, you say that it’s a wrong choice on the wrong occasion on a wrong day.

If you happened to be an emotional person, hell descends on you!

My friend, don’t get disheartened

As Mehmet Murat ildan says in the above quote…making the right decision is a rare one.

You are not alone.

Most of us make wrong choices by taking wrong decisions. It’s the part of life and the way of life.

It is the only way you can learn from mistakes.

Of course, mistakes can be sometimes costly!

Let us not blame others for everything. Remember you made the choice and be bold enough to accept the outcome of your choice.

Depend on your gut feeling.

And God provides you yet another opportunity to pick up one of the other choices available.

But you must have patience

Do you know what patience is?

“Patience is the art of hoping” Luc de Clapiers

Patience for one day, one month, one year or years together, ultimately you get what is best for you.

Are you aware of the three’ C’ of life?

They are the triplets whom we should never forget.

  1. Choices
  2. Chances
  3. Changes

Let us try to analyse further.

My topic started with the ‘Choices’ we make.

Choices determine how far you can go.

“Choose your love. Love your choice.” Thomas S. Monson

My friend, all of us start the day by making certain decisions and irrespective of whether the decision you made is going to be good or bad is not in your hands, but some outcome happens. Now is the time for you to choose from this outcome.

Now you are in a better position to make the choice that can take you near to your goals.

This is the choice I am talking about all the time.

“There comes a time in your life when you have to choose to turn the page, write another book or simply close it” Shannon L. Alder

Here one has to use wisely the choice selected.

My friend, the greatest risk you should avoid all the time is the risk of doing nothing.

And here is the point. Don’t depend on others to guide your destiny.

When life is generous enough to offer you choices, don’t hesitate to take a chance.

“In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take, relationships we were afraid to have, and the decisions we waited too long to make” Unknown

My friend, change is the way of life, all of us know this truth.

Never resist change once you decided about your choice and have taken a chance (irrespective of the outcome).

Be ready to welcome the change.

Remember Wu-Wei. Just flow with your life that happens once you have decided the ‘choice’ and the ‘chance’ you would love to take.

“Just when I think I have learned the way to live, life changes” Hugh Prather

“The 3 C’s of Life: Choices, Chances, Changes. You must make a choice to take a chance or your life will never change.” Zig Zigla

Which is the best thing in our life?

Such an easy question to answer!

I know my friend, each one of us can come with an answer.

The answer is well known, but sadly the majority of us are selfish.

Here is the answer.

“The best things in life are not things, it’s the people who make you feel loved and cared for” Unknown

Both ‘true love’ and ‘loving care’ are very very scarce.

Of course, money can never replace these two.

Thank you.

Life means both Yes & No.

My friend, life is strange.

Life is funny and you better laugh when you are low.

Don’t get excited when you are high. And there is no need to cry either.

Just move on.

Just go on with the flow.

Irrespective of the way you react, life goes on…

“Work for a Cause,

Not for Applause.

Live life to Express

Not to Impress.

Don’t strive to make your Presence noticed,

Just make your absence feltUnknown

Thank you.

You gotta nourish to flourish

“Let it go. Change the channel. Turn it off. Unsubscribe. Unfriend. Unfollow. Mute. Block. Walkaway. Breath”  @theminimalist

Yes, my friend, the time has arrived for you to follow the above quote.

Enough is enough!

And it’s high time you start knowing about Self-care.

What is ‘Self Care?

Simply put- it is about taking care of yourself.

This enables you to give the best of yourself to the world.

Do you remember this phrase?

‘Take care of yourself first or you will have nothing left to give others’

If you remember, well, you are a smart guy!

Do you care to take care of your house?

Of course, I am not talking about the house right now you are living in.

I am talking about your real house which is made up of your own body, mind and soul. It’s your responsibility to treat it with utmost care and respect.

Is it necessary to give priority to self-care?

My friend, these days you are imagining that things are getting out of control and you started feeling that you are disconnected from reality, you are tensed about the future and stressed a lot.

  • To be precise, you are pushed and life is stretching you maximum, in these Covid times.
  • You are working hard, trying to reach your goals and beating yourself to achieve the same.
  • You are punishing your body.
  • You are also trying to please each and everybody but unsuccessful.
  • You are confused and finding difficult to take care of yourself, leave alone taking care of others in need.
  • You are neglecting your body, necessitating a visit to your doctor.
  • Your mind is unable to choose the proper path.
  • Your soul is depressed all the time and not in a position to give suitable directions to your mind.

Self-care is taking care of your own feelings in a positive way.

Hence you should give utmost priority.

“To keep the body in good health is a duty…otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear” Buddha

I can give you a simple example

If you can recollect, the safety instructions that are given by the flight attendant to the passengers, wherein they request the passengers to wear the life jacket and oxygen mask first, and then only help those in needy next to you that may include your kids.

This is nothing but self-caring first…so that you are in a position to help others.

You may wonder…is not self-care another sophisticated term for ‘selfishness’?

Let us try to find out.

Does self-care amount to selfishness?

My friend, there is a sea of differences between self-care and selfishness.

✔Self-care, the very word tells you that, it’s done to take care of yourself, and not taking things from others or harming others.

✔Self-care enables you to give to others, while in selfishness you keep things for yourself.

✔Self-care is inclusive whereas selfishness things are excluded.

✔Self-care builds your inner strength. When you make time for yourself, get enough rest and exercise, you are more energetic and in a position to help others.

✔Self-care gives you peace of mind, while selfishness adds ‘envy’ and detrimental.

What is extreme self-care?

It’s all about you.

You own yourself.

You deserve the best in your life.

“To practice extreme self-care, you must learn to love yourself unconditionally, accept your imperfections, and embrace your vulnerabilities”  Cheryl Richardson

Take home message

“Respect your body when it is asking for a break

Respect your mind when it’s seeking rest

Honour yourself when you need a moment for yourself”  tiny buddha
