Happy World Vegan Day

“Veganism is not a sacrifice. It is a joy.”   Gary L. Francione

World Vegan Day is being celebrated on 1st November every year.

This is to encourage people to try and if possible follow a vegan lifestyle.

Vegan life is said to have tremendous benefits for human health.

Difference between vegan and vegetarian

Vegan does not consume products derived from animals or animal-sourced which includes meat, egg, honey, and other dairy products. Their diet is based on plant-based food.

Vegetarians, on the other hand, include eggs, honey, and dairy products apart from plant-based food. They strictly avoid meat.

For those of you who are vegetarians or vegans, wishing you a Happy Vegan Day.

Vegetarians celebrate Happy Vegetarian Day on 1st October every year.

Thank you.

Who is a Vegetarian & who is a Vegan?

  • A vegetarian is someone who does not eat meat, poultry, game, fish and other sea products or by products of animal slaughter. They do consume eggs or dairy products.
  • A vegan is a vegetarian who avoids all animals & animal derived products. Veganism is more than just diet.Vegans refuse to spend money on clothing or beauty products or entertainments which involves exploitation of animals (Circuses, zoos or horse races etc)

“Vegan is not about being perfect. It is about doing the least harm and the most good.” Anonymous

Some of the quotes by famous persons

“I personally chose to go vegan because I educated myself on factory farming and cruelty to animals, and I suddenly realized that what was on my plate were living things, with feelings. And I just couldn’t disconnect myself from it any longer.” Ellen DeGeneres

“The greatness of a nation and it’s moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” Gandhi

“The problem is that humans have victimized animals to such a degree that they are not even considered victims. They are not even considered at all. They are nothing; they don’t count; they don’t matter. They are commodities like TV sets and cell phones. We have actually turned animals into inanimate objects – sandwiches and shoes.” Gary Yourofsky

“My body will not be a tomb for other creatures.” Leonardo Da Vinci

“If slaughterhouses had glass walls, we’d all be vegetarian.” Paul McCartney

Those of my readers who are either Vegetarians or Vegans..”wishing you a happy Vegetarian Day”
