We are all One, But Many

One God, many faces.

One family, many races.

One truth, many paths.

One heart, many complexions.

One light, many reflections.

One world, many imperfections.

ONE.

We are all one,

But many.

Lie & Life go together !

Half truth

I always tell the truth. Even when I lie.
Al Pacino

Every body lies .Yes even You. That is the truth.

Can you keep your Right hand on your heart and say you never lie ?

We lie even to ourselves !! Our world is full of liars!!

Parents to their children, children to their parents,Friend to another friend,Husband to wife vice versa,Lovers to each other, superior to subordinate and subordinate to superior.People lie to doctors,to lawyers,to relatives, you name it,at every stage one is lying to others depending on the circumstances.

The day is incomplete  if you don’t lie !

And what about Surveys ,the Researchers undertake  to know the pulse of the people?

Are they getting the truthful  response ?

How about our dependence  on Google for A  to Z queries ? Are you getting the accurate reply?

Then why on the Earth you expect others to be Honest ??

Is this not the best example of ‘Double Standard’ ?

Nicholas Sparks says lie is a part of living.

“Because everybody lies, It’s part of living in society.

Don’t get me wrong-I think it’s necessary.

The last thing anyone wants is to live in a society where total honesty prevails.

Can you imagine the conversations?

You’re short and fat, one person might say, and the other might answer, I know.

But you smell bad, It just wouldn’t work. So people lie by omission all the time.

People will tell you most of the story…and I’ve learned that the part they neglect to tell you is often the most important part.

People hide the truth because they’re afraid.” -Jo       Nicholas Sparks

Even the ‘sex’ is not spared.

Everybody lies about sex. People lie during sex. If it weren’t for lies, there’d be no sex.    Jerry Seinfeld

Why everybody lies ?
Lying is not only a defense mechanism; it’s also a coping mechanism and a survival
technique.      Monica Raymund
Another reason given is..
“The truth is always a disappointment, which is why everybody
lies”.      FrederickBeigbeder
Now coming to difference between lying and deceptionn…..
Lying is a form of Deception…
Deception however does not always involve lying.

Tomorrow……Real or just a perception ??

Tomorrow....real or just perception??

“This to-day of yours is the precious tomorrow of someone who passed away yesterday”– Diva

Note-We all Live in Hope, but as you know Hope can have  either positive or negative outcome.Instead why can’t we just pray  that everything will end well and complete the day with a positive note?I request the readers to read the following with a positive orientation.

Don’t  we live in permanent illusion of ‘Tomorrow’ ?

Is not your mind telling lies constantly about your tomorrow ?

Is it not a fact that you can’t see tomorrow, and none of us know or sure of its existence or even how it looks !

Then why you say ,tomorrow…I do this..I do that.. etc ?

Since none of us know anything about this extraordinary tomorrow, is it not meaningful to spend time today, to the best of our ability, living in every second, helping each other whatever way it is possible.

Now that you realized that there is no ‘tomorrow’,you can stop demanding things from God and start having faith in GOD and just start the day (ie today) by saying  ‘what ever happens to-day is for my good and rest God will take care’ and develop the philosophy ‘there is no other time better than this moment’.By this thought don’t you think you are liberated from all your tensions, anxieties and worries forever ?

Are we depriving the joy of  ‘today’ for the sake of ‘tomorrow’? Think that to-day belongs to you and you are  here to spread your faith & love.

Listen to some of the wise thoughts.

“There is no tomorrow. There is only a planet turning on its axis, and a creature given to optimistic fancies”. Robert Brault,rbrault.blogspot.com

“Tomorrow may never come to us. We do not live in tomorrow. We cannot find it in any of our title-deeds. The man who owns whole blocks of real estate, and great ships on the sea, does not own a single minute of tomorrow. Tomorrow! It is a mysterious possibility, not yet born. It lies under the seal of midnight–behind the veil of glittering constellations”.  E.H.Chaplin,Living words,notablequotes.com

“This day was yesterday tomorrow nam’d:
Tomorrow shall be yesterday proclaimed:
Tomorrow not yet come, not far away,
What shall tomorrow then be call’d? Today”.      Robert Owen,Today and Tomorrow,notablequotes.com

“People were always getting ready for tomorrow. I didn’t believe in that. Tomorrow wasn’t getting ready for them. It didn’t even know they were there”.    Cormac Mccarthy,The road,Notablequotes.com.

Does your mind wander during prayers ?

grayscale photography of man sitting on grass field

Are you able to concentrate on God and Just God alone and pray without any thoughts interfering the prayers ?

1.Are you the one doing just lip movements while praying, but wander in a different world full of one thought jumping over to the next?

2.This split second intrusion of your thoughts (whether negative or positive) during prayers really haunting you ? Is this making you guilty ?
If it is so, believe me …..you are not alone.

Is it because our brains have multiple components, each doing different jobs in quick succession, thus making us, difficult to concentrate ?

Are these intrusive thoughts, a basic human nature ? ( since we can not stop thoughts from the brain)

Can you control your mind when you are already burdened with your ‘Life’ ? (burden of life is a reality for all of us).

Is it possible to override these thoughts ?

How to solve this problem ?

So many questions…..but I am finding very difficult to get one perfect answer (though plenty of answers are available on the net, which I am not convinced) which helps to really concentrate on God nothing but God .
I don’t have an answer.Do you have one ? Please guide me.

Some say Meditation helps

“The goal of meditation is not to control your thoughts,it is to stop letting them control you”

theageofenlightement

Again I am not sure of Meditation and how it can help control ones’ mind, since mind sprouts the thoughts continuously.Mind won’t keep quite Even during the sleep, we are troubled by the thoughts in the form of Dreams!

My guess is just ignore them. And Pray God to put an end to these interfering thoughts.Or appeal to God for forgiveness and say “I trust you and I surrender”

Once we surrender with sincerity,God will appreciate.
Please share your thoughts and any solution ( I mean based on your experience), if at all available.Thank you in advance.

Does Love mean suffering ? What is your definition of Love ?

Does love mean suffering ?

“The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for.”

Bob Marley

What is that all the religions, teach us about L O V E?

As per Bob Morley’s Wisdom, Everybody is going to hurt you.

I think he is correct because we expect too much from the ones ,we love ( a bit selfish attitude ,I say ) and in turn feel hurt if they are not up to our expectation. (again a selfish motive)

“To love is to suffer.

To avoid suffering one must not love.

But then one suffers from not loving.

Therefore, to love is to suffer; not to love is to suffer; to suffer is to suffer.

To be happy is to love. To be happy, then, is to suffer, but suffering makes one unhappy.

Therefore, to be happy one must love or love to suffer or suffer from too much happiness.” — Woody Allen

Are you confused ? Is too much happiness also a suffering ?

I know you don’t have an answer.Neither I have !

But my guess is…. don’t love too much or too little, and at the same time don’t not expect anything in return.Don’t presume or assume.

Is this not strange that the very word ‘L O V E’ makes some of us

experience ‘Heaven’ and some other ‘Hell’

How can L O V E have dual power…. ie adorable & destructive ?
What is your take ? Please share your thoughts .Have you ever suffered because of LOVE?

Maya ( Illusion)

In the recent discussion in blog articles about ‘Truth’ and meaning of ‘Absolute truth’ and ‘Relative truth, I realized that we forgot to discuss the role of ‘Maya’ ( illusion). Recently I came across an article in op ed of Deccan Chronicle, and thought it’s apt to understand the meaning of Maya  (illusion),in our day to day life’ by sharing the same .

Before we proceed further, you should know that Sudama, is a childhood friend of Hindu Deity Lord Krishna.

One day Sudama wished to have a glimpse of God’s Maya (illusion). He had heard a lot about Maya but never understood what it was as he was always surrendered to God.

One day, he finally asked Lord Krishna, “What is Maya? What is the form of Maya? How does Maya untangle a man?” He directly sought answers of these questions from Lord Krishna and kept requesting him to show a glimpse of Maya.

Lord Krishna replied that when time comes he shall give him the answers and also show him Maya.

Then he said, “Let us go to Yamuna to take bath.”  Both of them came to the banks of Yamuna to take bath. After taking bath, Lord Krishna started dressing in Yellow and in the meantime Sudama went to take a dip in water.

At the time of taking dip, Sudama felt that the river was flooded and he was being washed away in it. With great difficulty, by taking the help of a small Rock he came out of the river.

Perplexed and hungry, Sudama was roaming about and finally reached a village. There, an elephant garlanded him. People informed him that their King had died and it is their country’s rule that after the death of their king, whosoever is garlanded by the elephant would be the next king.

The coronation ceremony of Sudama was done.

After sometime, he got married and had two sons during the twelve years of his married life.

Thereafter, one day his wife passed away. Sudama started weeping in sorrow. People tried to console him.

They informed him that it was Mayapuri’s rule that he too would be sent wherever his wife went. He too would have to enter his wife’s funeral pyre.

Sudama was shell shocked to hear this. Now, he forgot mourning the demise of his wife and started weeping for himself. He said that since he was a foreigner, this rule should not be applicable to him.

When people did not listen to him and were making him sit in the pyre, he requested for permission to worship the river once last time. People allowed him to do that and sent four people to keep an eye on him.

Sudama could see death approaching him and in this fear, chanting Lord Krishna’s name, he took a dip in the river and came out crying. Just then, he saw Lord Krishna Standing and getting dressed in yellow. Lord Krishna asked Sudama as to why was he weeping.

Sudama was already stunned and when he saw Lord Krishna he was astonished too. He asked Krishna “Where did all that vanish? What all is happening? I am not able to understand anything.”

Lord Krishna said, “This is my Maya.” Maya means “forgetfulness”. Illusion, unreal, myth, ignorance, etc. are Maya. One who forgets me, the God, and thinks that the world is the only truth and is always engrossed in it, he is entrapped in Maya. Deeming the unrealistic world as real and considering Paramatma and self as to dual entities is Maya.

Despite living in the materialistic world, Maya could not touch Sudama till he was devoted or surrendered towards God but as soon as he forgot the God, he was trapped in Maya . In the same manner, worldly man forgetting God, gets entangled in Maya and spends the whole life experiencing joys and sorrows.

Despite living in the materialistic world, if we think of God at every moment (which is possible) then along with enjoying the bliss of God, we can live our worldly life too to the fullest.

Source Deccan chronicle – op ed

“In the world of relative truths and opinions, many opinions, viewpoints, possibilities and probabilities can coexist, and each can stand on its own merits in particular contexts and conditions. This is the truth of Truth. Every truth or principle is a possibility in some context, condition or situation. Sometimes you may find it worth fighting for and sometime not. Truth is an undulating wave on the surface of impermanence. You may call it by any name, but we consider it to be Maya, the deluding power of existence which hides in the play of light and shadow to create the illusion of something or the other. You will find it only in the unstable currents of life just as the sun light that reflects upon the waters of an ocean, but you cannot truly grasp its brilliance or immensity until you cross those waters and stand on the shore. ” Jayaram V.

Truth is Single or Many ?

truth single or many

Is truth single or multiple ?

No two individuals see the challenges and situations in the sameway.

Hence there is no one truth. But many truths.

“In a rapidly ascending balloon, were two men.One watched the earth getting farther and farther away.

One watched the stars getting nearer and nearer and nearer.”

George Nathan

Naked truth

A thousand men can’t undress a naked man.

Since I am a layman, apologies for my ignorance. I am not sure what

exactly the proverb trying to convey .I request learned members to

enlighten me .

Don’t you agree that proverbs give us that extra knowledge and wonderful wisdom ??

Or you think proverbs are nothing but impossibilities or sometimes even absurdities, outdated sometimes contradictory … in context of modern word’s thinking prowess ?

I was not getting a proper and quick answer for the above proverb from the internet search and finally I was successful and  I felt one answer applies perfectly.

It means that honesty has no shame and nothing to hide
