May 31 st World ‘No-Tobacco Day’

Smoking

“Smoking helps you lose weight … one lung at a time!”

Every year, on May 31, WHO and partners around the world celebrate World No-Tobacco  Day, dedicated to highlight the health risks associated with the consumption of tobacco and promote effective policies to reduce consumption.

The tobacco epidemic is one of the biggest public health threats the world has ever faced, killing more than 7 million people a year. More than 6 million of those deaths are the result of direct tobacco use while around 890 000 are the result of non-smokers being exposed to second-hand smoke.

Smoking

Thousands stop smoking every year-   by dying

As you notice, all the three person are enjoying smoking, and on the left side one can see the notice stuck ( local language ), ironically telling that the area is prohibited from smoking and offenders will be punished !!

Time for some humor

“I know that every cigarette I smoke takes five minutes off my life, but it takes ten minutes to smoke it… that’s a five-minute net gain!”    Ed Byrne

“Giving up smoking is the easiest thing in the world.I know because I’ve done it thousands of times”      Mark Twain

“Whenever I think of quit smoking…..I need a cigarette to
think …..!!!”   quote-flickr,com

Ego=bubble

Ego bubble

Your ego may be just a soap bubble.May be for a few seconds it will remain, rising higher in the air.

Perhaps for a few seconds it may have a rainbow, but is only for a few seconds. In this infinite & eternal existence your egos go on bursting every moment.

It is better not to have any attachment with soap bubbles

Peep or Peek ??

Peeping

It’s fun to peek into other people’s world & see how they go about doing things.                         ‘Norah Jones’

In the above photo not just one,but two people are seemed to be curious.

Kids being curious I can understand.Children learn things only by being curious.

And adults peeping ?

May be it is a kind of Thrill & human trait to be ‘curious’ about what others are up to !! And  can one can take it as a norm ?

But do you enjoy doing this ?

The habit of peeping into somebody’s affair….can one express as ‘disgusting’ or just ignore it ?

Probably it brings, gossips with toppings and some excitement resulting in rumors !

Are we not obsessed with the lives of others ?

It is said this habit is more prevalent in women.

Or you think it’s because idle brain, which is the culprit. And one derives demonic pleasure.

Nothing wrong being inquisitive ,after all we descended from monkeys

Being inquisitive is OK if it relates to our well-being,but unfortunately we tend to be inquisitive for wrong reasons.

And we become extremely happy for checking others problems, rather than taking care of our own problems!

“Most of our problems will be solved ,if we focus on what is happening in our life rather than peeping into other’s life”   Misbah Abu Obeida Khan

And coming to the English Language…which word is correct to use ? Peek or Peep ?

Art -Vandalism

Food for thought

“When we destroy something created by man,we call it ‘Vandalism’.

But when we destroy, something by the Nature,we call it ‘Progress’

Ed Bergley Jr

What are your thoughts on Art vs vandalism ??

Have you ever hugged a troll ??

Troll

How to win war on internet trolls?

This article is a 2.5 minute read.

This post is in response to my experience with a reader, who is from non-English speaking country, who mistook my English, and became angry.I fully understand this situation in this particular scenario.I even had to take help of fellow readers(English Pundits)

But many times we are not that fortunate( I mean language problem) and are abused by trolls.

Internet troll can become sometimes nasty and the person affected may lose sleep forever.

You can call Internet Troll as a polished version of mythical creatures in Scandinavian folklore.

Trolling is done by cowardly people, and they do because, they oppose somebody’s point of view or they derive pleasure by causing mental agony ( sadist ), or they hurt the feelings out of ignorance of the topic being discussed. They troll because they think that nobody knows their identity.

If you think trolls are after you…..what to do ?

Very simple.

Just Image You are hugging them…that’s all…. and move on by ignoring them.Don’t even respond, however strong the urge to react!

There are two kinds of Hugs.( my version)

1. Distant Hug-reach out to the person, when the occasion arises and hug in your imagination and you get peace of mind.

2.Physical hug-this you can call it as healing hug.

Time to Hug

Hugs are one of the reasons God gave us arms.So stretch out your arm to some one today.Reach out to those you love or do not love…it will warm the heart of the giver and give light to the soul of the recipients.

‘unknown’

Healing Hug

Hugging is a good medicine.Scientists say that hugging is a form of communication because it can say things you don’t have words for.

And the nicest thing about a hug is that you usually can’t give one without getting one

‘Unknown’

We are fortunate in WP since we are surrounded mostly by Gentlemen & Gentlewomen, who either agree or disagree…and there the matter ends !

How do you manage your trolls ?

Did anybody troll you ? lease share your experiences.

Tiresome journey,Please ignore us !

“Now, blessings light on him that first invented sleep!

It covers a man all over, thoughts and all, like a cloak;

it is meat for the hungry,

drink for the thirsty,

heat for the cold,

and cold for the hot.

It is the current coin that purchases all the pleasures of the world

cheap, and the balance that sets the king and the shepherd, the fool

and the wise man, even”.
