Pull up a seat

I am aghast to witness this kind of seating arrangement!

Looks like some crazy person doing a fine ‘balancing act’.

Who on the earth would have come with such an idiotic arrangement?

Are they not aware of the possibility of either breaking the back even a head injury?

On closer inspection, I noticed a single sports shoe kept in a box behind.

Again I am unable to explain these two co existing.

This image I took in a building where the pilgrims stay temporarily. I was proceeding to the terrace and noticed this.

Do you have any idea?

Nobody was giving a proper explanation when I tried to get the answer.

My possible guess is somebody trying to reach the wall above.

Why do people become crazy and play dangerous games and risk their lives?

Again I have no explanation.

Is this a sign of intelligence?

“Crazy people are considered mad by the rest of the society only because their intelligence is not understood” Whihui Zhou

Or are we dumb?

“The thing about the smart people is that they seem like crazy people to dumb people”ย  Stephen Hawking

Pull up a seat

You are welcome to this tiny island with a tree, a lovely lawn with just one comfortable chair.

You can bring your bottles.

Unfortunately, you alone can occupy this island.

If you bring anybody with you, they only can swim around watching you enjoy Nature!

Better not to invite anybody.

Resting Place

โ€œEvery bird needs a tree; every ship needs a harbor! Blessed are those who have a place to rest when tired!โ€  Mehmet Murat ildan

Do you know the true resting place of a human being?

“Perhaps love is like a resting place, a shelter from the storm. It exists to give you comfort, it’s there to keep you warm, and in those times of trouble when you are most alone, the memory of love bring you home”  John Denver

Welcome to the missing seat!

โ€œWhen we look at an empty chair and say ‘the chair is empty’, the ’emptiness’ gets angry because the chair is actually not empty, the ’emptiness’ is sitting there!โ€ Mehmet Murat ildan

It amazed me to see this chair

Is this a missing seat or an empty chair?

Why it’s kept?

What is the idea behind it?

Is somebody trying to make a fool of us?

Does somebody want to send us a message?

What type of message?

I am not sure.

In this type of situation, what one can do best?

“There is something much better than sitting on an empty chair and that is to watch it and to let it inspire you to think deeply!”
Mehmet Murat ildan

Is emptiness important in our life?

Yes.

My friend, we require emptiness for us so that we can fill it up with what we wish to possess.

But western & eastern philosophies have opposite views

Yes, while the western world sees emptiness as negative (Depression/Nihilism) resulting in anxiety.

The eastern world thinks of it as a positive aspect of life.

According to Lao Tzu,

He gives examples of the Center hole in a Wheel, the Emptiness of a pot and the Empty space in a house.

Because there is an emptiness in these situations, things become valuable.

“We join spokes together in a wheel, but it is the centre hole that makes the wagon move. We shape clay into a pot, but it is the emptiness inside that holds whatever we want. We hammer wood for a house, but it is the inner space that makes it livable.”

Thank you.

The topic reminded me of the recent ‘Sofagate’ event where the first female chief of The European commission, Ursula von der Leyen was hurt by not having a chair to sit in during a meeting.

Pull up a seat

“Comfort rules. You want to be able to sit in a good chair comfortably for a few hours and be able to talk and enjoy a glass of wine. There’s nothing worse than sitting in an uncomfortable chair”. Amanda Pays

I had many smiles when I noticed a swimming pool lounger placed at an angle probably to be used as a beach relaxing seat.

I am sure whoever tries to sit on this chair must be a gymnast expert!

Food for thought

Do you know your chair might be killing you?

Don’t believe it?

“I’ve got too many of my friends that retired and went home and got on a rocking chair, and about a year and a half later, I’m always going to the cemetery”ย  Red Adair

Probably sitting for long hours on the chair may be something to do with heart attacks since not much of activity is undertaken.

Xingfu Mama wants us to take photos ofย  PLACES WE SITโ€ฆOR MIGHT SITโ€ฆOR ART, ABOUT SITTING.

It’s interesting for me because I never felt the need to take photos of seats unless it’s ornamental.

Thank you Xingfu Mama for the inspiration.

Thank you.
