STALK

Heliconia-Flower

“Paradise can take the form of anything! It can be a flower or it can be a word or it can just be a sincere smile!” Mehmet Murat ildan

The above flower is (Heliconia flowering plants) known by the names ‘False bird of paradise‘ and ‘Lobster claw’ flower.

Stalk vs Petioles

Do the two words convey the same meaning or different meanings?

I don’t know.

My thinking is both are the same and it’s part of a plant that supports a flower or leaf.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

My thoughts

The important point here to note is ‘the support element’ for the sustenance of life.

My friend, we all need some support in our life to lead our life peacefully.

“Everyone needs a support system, be it family, friends, coworkers, therapists, or religious leaders.

We cannot do life alone and expect to keep mentally, emotionally, and spiritually healthy.

Everyone needs some sort of support system on which to rely”

Richelle E. Goodrich

So let us not be arrogant and egoistic.

Thank you for your visit.

Take care, my friend.

Fleece

Fleece vs Wool

Fleece is a synthetic fabric while wool is a natural fabric.

Fleece is not as warm as wool.

Fleece is cheaper compared to wool.

Fleece is softer than wool.

Fleece is not breathable, unlike wool.

The quantity of wool depends on the breed of sheep.

Fleece

Do you have the real, I mean true friends?

If so then you are most fortunate.

“Good friends are like cozy sweaters, they’ll always be there to keep you warm when the rest of the world leaves you shivering” Jennifer Le Blanc

Fleece

Wool

A sheep can produce 2 to 30 pounds of wool per year.

Sheep needs 6 weeks to grow enough wool.

I have mixed drinks about feelings

Alcohol-stockpile

“I drink to forget I drink” Joe E. Lewis

One thing I have noticed is the typical human behaviour of ‘stock piling’ things under various circumstances.

This can happen when they sense the impact of ‘suffering’ due to a probable shortage of essentials.

Do you remember when people piled up tissue papers, toilet rolls, face masks and even sanitisers during the first corona wave?

Recently there was a panic purchase of fuel in the UK.

At times the system can collapse if there is a prolonged break in the supply chain.

I am puzzled as to why people uniformly behave the way they behave during stressful times?

This behaviour is ‘panic buying’

Buying a few necessary items I can understand, but purchasing large quantities of a particular item??

Don’t get confused about the ‘Hoarding Disorder’ which is a psychological problem and I am not discussing this. (hoarding disorder goes beyond stockpiling).

I don’t know the exact reason why people behave like this.

I guess it’s an instant but temporary reaction, hopefully, they don’t fall victim to ‘Hoarding Disorder’

Panic buying of essentials we all can understand…

But…Panic buying of alcohol??

I am not sure whether liquor comes under essential commodity.

Of course, we are all aware of Alcohol withdrawal syndrome.

People who drink heavily can land in this mess.

But normal people in a ‘panic buying mood’ of alcohol?

What best you can do to avoid panic buying?

I don’t have an answer.

One thing we can ask ourselves is, do we really need this item… again the answer depends on which side of the fence you are in.

When we directly ask the person, each person comes out with a strong response.

How covid-19 changed the way we shop- and what to expect in 2022 and beyond

“Avoid panic buying.

Depending on interest rates, it’s often more cost effective to lease panic instead.”
John Alejandro King

Song

“Without music Life would be a mistake”.   Friederich Nietzsche

If I could be any musician in the world, who would I be and why?

I would love to be Kenny Rogers, a three-time Grammy Award winner and the man who knows how to convey emotions, through his songs.

I love Kenny Rogers for his husky voice, a gifted voice indeed and he was a talented artist.

The song ‘Lady’ sung by him is, One of the most Romantic songs, I have ever heard and an ideal song on any occasion especially wedding anniversaries, where one goes into nostalgia.

The ‘Lady’ he is talking about in this song is his life partner. And every word in this song tells what that ‘Lady’ means to him. Wish every couple be this lucky throughout their relationship.

Moss

What is Moss?

My friend, you come across this moss everywhere and naturally, you ignore it.

But you are aware of the carpet feeling when you walk over it.

Moss is an ancient plant.

This is a creator’s wonder

Believe it or not, we always overlook it.

They are tiny plants playing an important role in biodiverse habitats.

  • They are non-flowering plants without roots but have stems and leaves.
  • They stabilize soil surface and retain water helping new plants to grow.
  • Remember moss is not harmful to your lawn or garden

“Moss grows where nothing else can grow. It grows on bricks. It grows on tree bark and roofing slate.

It grows in the Arctic Circle and in the balmiest tropics;

it also grows on the fur of sloths, on the backs of snails, on decaying human bones.

It is a resurrection engine.

A single clump of mosses can lie dormant and dry for forty years at a stretch, and then vault back again into life with a mere soaking of water” Elizabeth Gilbert

Mosses

“One gram of moss from the forest floor, a piece about the size of a muffin, would harbour 150,000 protozoa, 132,000 tardigrades, 3,000 springtails, 800 rotifers, 500 nematodes, 400 mites, and 200 fly larvae. These numbers tell us something about the astounding quantity of life in a handful of moss” Robin Wall Kimmerer

The new broom sweeps clean-Proverb

All the time I wonder, does the broom really keep the area clean and we are free from the dust and dirt?

My friend, the broom is the dirtiest thing ever to be housed.

Think of the various items you sweep daily… leftover food, pet fur, dirt what not!

We are supposed to change the broom every month but we never care about this important step.

But I feel sad about the broom.

Why?

“It was a broom always kept aside calling dirty

It always wanted to shout aloud, “your rooms were dirty, not me” Selma Raj

Broom Philosophy

“One man with a broom cannot clean the whole world but if the whole world starts knowing that that man has an idea of cleaning the whole world, then this idea can come true!

One man is one man, but one idea is one thousand men or one million or one billion men!”
