Roses fall, but the thorns remain-Dutch Proverb

I request readers to help me in understanding the meaning of the above Dutch Proverb

Rose is a Rose

“The rose is a rose from the time it is a seed to the time it dies. Within it, at all times, it contains its whole potential. It seems to be constantly in the process of change: Yet at each state, at each moment, it is perfectly all right as it is”

Paulo Coelho

Pink Haze – perfect sky

“Keep your eyes on the cloud, not on the crowds” Unknown

“Look up at the sky. We are not alone. The whole universe is friendly to us and conspires to give the best only to those who dream and work”  A.P.J.Abdul Kalam

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you look at the sky?

Do you look at the sky at all, my friend?

If you look at, do you prefer a cloudy daytime or starry nighttime?

What are your thoughts or feelings?

Or you are one of those who say there is no time or occasion or not interested?

My feelings

I feel awed, be its vastness or our mind going in a relaxation mood or calm.

The colors during Sunrise and Sunset are breathtaking.

Thank you.

Namaste 🙏🙏🙏

Pretty Pink

“Architecture should speak of its time and place, but yearn for timelessness.” Frank Ghery

Do you intend to visit India, in the future, my friend?

As you start your world tour, I am confident that you will include India, the most happening country… from anything to everything,.

And you must visit Jaipur, the capital of the state of Rajasthan, in western India.

Why?

Jaipur is popularly known as ‘Pink City’

During the rule of Sawai Ramsingh, the city was painted pink, to welcome HRH King Edward VII and every building within the walled historic centre was painted a terracotta pink colour.

Historically the colour is said to represent welcoming and hospitality.

The city is a photographer’s paradise!

Some of the popular pink monuments include Albert Hall Museum, Hawa Mahal, city place, Amer fort and Galta Ji temple.

Hawa Mahal

The photo above is that of Hawa Mahal.

The building somewhat resembles a honeycomb and was constructed in the year 1799.

It has 5 floors and pyramidal in appearance.

Some interesting facts about Hawa Mahal

  • There is no front entrance. One has to enter from the side of the city palace.
  • The beauty of the building is in the number of windows. It has 953 small open windows, angled such that the breeze can easily enter the other side. Hence known by the name Hawa Mahal (Named after 5th floor) and in English translation- Palace of Winds or the palace of breeze. So, the windows serve two purposes.1. The royal ladies can see the procession in the street below without being noticed. 2.The windows allow the breeze to flow through and keep the palace cool.
  • Hawa Mahal is in the shape of a Crown. (Lord Krishna’s crown)
  • You will be surprised to know that the building has no foundation! And it’s the tallest building in the world without a foundation.
  • Though the building has 5 floors….and strangely that there are no stairs. Only ramps to go up.
  • The building was never meant to stay.
  • The height of the palace is 50 feet (15 m)
  • It’s built at an 87º angle

Thank you.

Bright Pink

Pink lotus flowers are associated with Buddhism & Hinduism.

“The lotus is the most beautiful flower, whose petals open one by one. But, it will only grow in the mud. In order to grow and gain wisdom, first, you must have the mud – the obstacles of life and its suffering…” Goldie Hawn

Buddhists believe that the plant symbolizes perseverance and purification after experiencing human suffering.

In Buddhism, it represents coming out of suffering, patience and self-awareness.

In Hinduism, it represents beauty, prosperity and fertility.

“Great people will always be mocked by those who feel smaller than them. A lion does not flinch at laughter coming from a hyena. A gorilla does not budge from a banana thrown at it by a monkey.
A nightingale does not stop singing its beautiful song at the intrusion of an annoying woodpecker. Whenever you should doubt your self-worth, remember the lotus flower. Even though it plunges to life from beneath the mud, it does not allow the dirt that surrounds it to affect its growth or beauty.”

Significance of Pink

Pink signifies feminine, healthy with sweetness and romantic with innocence.

Symbolizes youthfulness and happiness.

“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles”. Audrey Hepburn
