Tuesday Thoughts

“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal”. From an Irish headstone”    Richard Puz

Do you believe that ‘Love’ truly hurts’?

What is your frank opinion my friend?

Are you the aggrieved party, always in matters of ‘love’?

Then read this.

What does everyone in general say?

“Everyone says Love hurts, Yes, you read it right.

But that is not true.

Loneliness hurts.

Rejection hurts.

Losing someone hurts.

Envy hurts.

Everyone gets these things confused with ‘Love’, but in reality ‘Love’ is the only thing in this world that covers up all pain and makes someone feel wonderful again.

Love is the only thing in this world that does not hurt”    Unknown

Are you aware of the Power of Love?

“Love is a cycle…

When you love, you feel you get hurt

When you get hurt, you hate

When you hate, you try to forget

When you try to forget, you start missing

When you start missing, you will eventually fall in ‘love’ again” Unknown

I am sure by now you have realised that we can’t survive without ‘love’ and love is a misunderstood 4 letter word!

Love never hurts….only our expectations do hurt us.

Please share your thoughts, my friend.

Thank you.

Namaste 🙏🙏🙏

Sunrise or Sunset?

Always difficult to say unless the photographer reveals the truth. Here you can see the reflection of Sunset in the architecture glass building.

Sunsets are always beautiful. The golden bright shining color is mesmerizing.

“When the sun is setting, leave whatever you are doing and watch it.” Murat Ildan

Sun set Reflection in the glass
“There’s a sunrise and a sunset every single day, and they’re absolutely free. Don’t miss so many of them.” Joe Walton

Watching the Sunset is more peaceful as the Sun descends below the horizon and one is in awe because of the romantic shades of the various colours particularly orange and red.

Reflection teaches us

“By three methods, we may learn wisdom:

First, by reflection, which is noblest;

Second, by imitation, which is easiest;

And third, by experience, which is the bitterest.”  Confucius

While Sunset symbolizes the ending of the day,it also brings promise of Hope.

Definition of Symmetry

Cambridge dictionary defines symmetry as ‘the quality of having  parts that match each other, especially in a way that is attractive, or similarity of shape or contents

As humans we love and enjoy symmetry. If there is slight deviation we feel it’s ugly.

But John Ruskin has a different view

“No human face is exactly the same in its lines on each side, no leaf perfect in its lobes, no branch in its symmetry. All admit irregularity as they imply change; and to banish imperfection is to destroy expression, to check exertion, to paralyze vitality. All things are literally better, lovelier, and more beloved for the imperfections which have been divinely appointed, that the law of human life may be Effort, and the law of human judgment, Mercy.”

“If we humans are bilaterally symmetrical, how can our lives be asymmetrical??.Life is all about a balance”. Ignited mind

“Nature seems to take advantage of the simple mathematical representations of the symmetry laws. When one pauses to consider the elegance and the beautiful perfection of the mathematical reasoning involved and contrast it with the complex and far-reaching physical consequences, a deep sense of respect for the power of the symmetry laws never fails to develop”. Chen Ning Yang

“It is about the distortions of symmetry and reciprocity in life: if you have the rewards, you must also get some of the risks— not let others pay the price of your mistakes. If you inflict risk onto others and they are harmed, you need to pay some price for it”. Nassim Nicholas Taleb

Solitude is not the absence of company, but the moment when our soul is free to speak to us and help us decide what to do with our life.    Paulo Coelho

What is Solitude?

Cambridge Dictionary defines Solitude as

“The situation of being alone without other people”

The person in solitude feels at peace and experiences pleasantness at home

Though physically you are alone, mentally you are not. At this point you are getting inspiration for your plans, ambitions, realizing your strengths and weakness, etc.

You can listen to the voice of your conscience.

Is Solitude necessary in ones’ life?

My answer is ‘yes’

It’s because of the hustle and bustle of the life you are leading making one sick. Let us accept this fact.

Did the corona pandemic allow one to enjoy Solitude?

Of course my friend. It’s a God-given opportunity and all of us have realized the meaning and purpose of our life.

What are the places you can seek solitude?

My dear friend, you don’t need to go to Himalayas or Arctic or exotic locales.

There is no need to look for top locations in foreign countries or your country.

Just search for quiet locations next to you,in your location.

Some examples

  • If you have seashore or river banks or even your terrace( watching the night sky) are enough.
  • You can take a long walk.
  • Sitting in the balcony
  • Relaxing in the garden
  • Or if you are lucky just watch kids playing and look into their eyes and the energy vibrations from the kids.
  • Simply switch off your online activity.

Each individual is unique and one can always decide what exactly brings the solitude moment and enjoy the pleasantness accordingly.

“You don’t need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. Don’t even listen, simply wait, be quiet still and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice. It will roll in ecstasy at your feet”  Franz Kafka

Are Solitude & Loneliness the same ?

No, my friend. They are the opposite.

“Loneliness expresses the pain of being alone and solitude expresses the glory of being alone”  Paul Tillich

Loneliness is a state of sadness. One has no company and alone. It’s a kind of feeling lonely though you are surrounded by the people you love. It’s a negative emotion.

Solitude on the other hand is a positive emotion. Here you enjoy having a quiet time. Here you are getting enough time to retrospect and energize yourself accordingly.

Take home message

“Loneliness is the poverty of self; solitude is the richness of self”  May Sarton

Thank you. Namaste🙏🙏🙏

“Endless ocean, blue water, dreamy sky, tranquil beach, love in the air, mind fly high.”    Debasish Mridha

What is your version of ‘Dreamy’ ?

Dreamy is said to be a feeling of quietness which is soothing, pleasant, gentle, soft and relaxing.

So many words to describe the feeling of being dreamy.

My point is can we dream in day time?

All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.  Edgar Allan Poe

Don’t we all dream of ‘Happily ever after’, which one way you can consider as dreamy?

Are dreams real or fantasy?

“The best thing about dreams is that fleeting moment, when you are between asleep and awake, when you don’t know the difference between reality and fantasy, when for just that one moment you feel with your entire soul that the dream is reality, and it really happened.”    James Arthur Baldwin

Were you in dreamy situation before?

The fact that we are alive today, itself is like a dream.

“Dream as if you’ll live forever. Live as if you’ll die today”    James Dean

Terracotta is a type of clay, and when clay is subjected to high temperature, it becomes pottery otherwise known as ceramic.

In Italian Terracotta means ‘Baked Earth’

Terracotta is ceramic pottery.

Flower pots are made by baking terracotta clay. Terracotta colour is brown orange.

Terracotta is also used to make bricks and sculptures. Wonderpolis.org

The above Photograph of Terracotta is that of Lord Hanuman, one of the Hindu Gods and companion of Lord Rama.

12 Interesting Facts about Lord Hanuman

God VS Humans VS Terracotta clay

“God uses pressure, pain and difficulties to prepare us for greater things. Just like pressure is used to squeeze out oil from the olives, and pressure shapes diamonds, and fire refines gold.

Just as the potter uses heat to shape clay into the form and shape, He wants it to be, God does same with us, to bring out our inner treasures and to make us use our potentials to the fullest.

God is not sending you difficult situations to hurt you; He is doing so to strengthen you; make you grow and to prepare you for your Destiny and Greatness.”

  15. If you are alive today, express your GRATITUDE

Rain drops

Cambridge Dictionary defines Countless as  ‘Very many, or too many to be counted.

Can you count Raindrops ?

I feel we can not count the number of drops as it rains.

More so when you are boating in the lake or on the vast sea,I don’t think it is possible since raindrops are countless.

Instead of busy counting and becoming a fool, better you start to enjoy the sound, the smell and the beauty of the scenery which is given to you freely by Mother Nature.

“Every raindrop that falls is accompanied by an angel, for even a raindrop is a manifestation of being.”  Muhammad

Rain drops

Around us, life bursts with miracles–a glass of water, a ray of sunshine, a leaf, a caterpillar, a flower, laughter, raindrops. If you live in awareness, it is easy to see miracles everywhere. Each human being is a multiplicity of miracles. Eyes that see thousands of colors, shapes, and forms; ears that hear a bee flying or a thunderclap; a brain that ponders a speck of dust as easily as the entire cosmos; a heart that beats in rhythm with the heartbeat of all beings. When we are tired and feel discouraged by life’s daily struggles, we may not notice these miracles, but they are always there.  Nhat Hanh

This post in response to  May Month -Photo a day Challenge -29-Rare

What is rarest of rares ?

I am not talking of rare diseases, enough of corona.

I am not talking about rare occasions.

Not even of rarest gems, rare animals or rare photos or rare earth minerals.

I am talking of human life.

Why is Human life ?

Human life is a ‘rare’ gift given by the Almighty.(sorry folks who are atheists)

The purpose of human life is to live and let live .

Unfortunately this is not happening.

Not only we are destroying ourselves physically, mentally and emotionally, but we are causing untold damage to the environment.

I am not discussing the details since you all know.

Every life is precious and to be born as Humans is even more precious !

Is human life really great ?

Just imagine, among 8.7 million species, only one has become smart enough to ponder over the meaning of life. This simple evolutionary fact itself implies the gravitas of human life. Abhijit Naskar

How are we destroying ourselves ?

Selfishness, being greedy, lack of compassion and being aggressive and money minded.

The world is coming to an end sooner than you think.

Humans will destroy themselves, long before The Sun does

Any solutions ?

No my friend.

Humans lack vision !

“The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.”   Helen Keller
