Just another day in a False Paradise

“A fool’s paradise is wise man’s hell” Thomas Fuller

This flower is known by the name ‘False bird of Paradise’

Another name is Lobster Claw Flower. The name “Lobster Claw” comes from the shape of its flower bracts. which resemble the shape of a lobster’s claw.

Why it’s called False Bird Of Paradise?

Because it mimics the original bird of paradise flower.

How does the original bird of paradise look?

This flower gets its name because the flower is made up of three bright orange petals and three blue petals which are fused into a single bud. As the flower blooms, the petals start showing a shape that simulates a bird in flight.

Where do you find the real paradise?

Paradise is a sip away!

Hot, Hotter & Hottest

Most of the area in India (Excluding Northern most part) has just three seasons. Hot, hotter and hottest.

We are nearing the end of March Month.

We Indians dread the very thought of our lives between April to July months when the temperature rises both mentally and also weather-wise.

The weather is very hot, humid and stuffy. The temperature ranges from 101ºF(39ºC) to 114ºF(46ºC)

Do you Know?

Of the worlds’ 15 hot places 10 are in India. source-El Dorado

Last year Rajasthan’s Chiru recorded the highest temperature of 122ºF(50ºC)

How do people manage this unbearable heat?

It’s is simple.

We are used to this temperature.

We also are aware of why an individual’s temperature rises during these days resulting in heated arguments but ends in a friendly way by sharing coconut water!

Nutritional value of coconut water

Coconut water is always refreshing.

It contains digestible carbohydrates in the form of sugar and electrolytes. It has few calories, less sodium more potassium and much superior to those Gym/Sports drinks.

Coconut water is lower in sugar than fruit juices and for those who are conscious about weight, it can be a magic beverage.

Coconut water keeps you hydrated and at the same time giving the required nourishment for quick recovery from heat-related exhaustion.

Any modern-day ‘life’ lessons?

Random act of kindness day Feb 17

“Kindness is free, let’s pass it on”    unknown

Why we fail in showering kindness ?

Most of the times,we are busy with our work schedule or we are in our own world and find no time to look beyond.

We get angry fast, because we feel we are not successful in life, based on our comparisons to others and are busy whining.

Social media addiction bringing jealousy, hatred, cruelty, harshness, sadism and converting us inhospitable.

We are becoming hostile to family members, neighbors, friends and strangers.we are becoming mean.

We don’t have time for anything since we are busy thinking how to become rich fast, busy posting selfies on Instagram, struggling to increase the number of friends & follows on major Social media platforms.

And we have the habit of saying “Either I am not finding time” or “F**k off  kind of stuff.

Strangely, we don’t hesitate to murmur, whenever the thought comes to us that people are rude and devoid of the politeness.

For those of you, who wish to change the world, why can’t you be the change?

Random act of kindness day’ is celebrated for this same reason and we can spread the joy of happiness by being kind to others.

Not necessarily poking into others affairs, but being helpful, kind and compassionate.

We can spread good vibes around us by making someone else’ feel good ‘ by our simple act in the form of kindness.

All the religions teach us to be kind and compassionate.

In fact everyday, one must show kindness to fellow human beings. This gesture gives us a total satisfaction mentally.

Wherever you are, whatever you are doing spread kindness all around you, more so with a stranger.

Remember there are people who are less luckier than you,for no fault of theirs.

” Too often we underestimate the power of a touch,a smile,a kind word,a listening ear,an honest compliment,or the smallest act of caring , all of which have the potential to turn a life around”. Leos Buscaglia

Listens to Phil Collins ‘Another day in Paradise’ and have a meaningful day.

Death is not important. As long we are here, there is no death. And when death is there, we will not be here anymoreEpicurus

Day 3 Lyric Challenge

My sincere thanks to Rev. Paul for nominating me for a ‘3 day Lyric Challenge’

This is the 3 rd and final of the 3 day challenge

Please do check his wonderful blog at Parallax , the title of his blog, which is self explanatory, telling the readers that all of us have different views and opinions, just like Parallax and how we all can be compassionate and understanding and respect others view point. His other interests include social justice, inter-faith dialogue, environmentalism, and community development.
My choice for Day 3 and final lyrical Challenge is ‘Another day in Paradise’ by Phil Collins

Collins sings the song from a third-person perspective, as he observes a man crossing the street to ignore a homeless woman, and he implores listeners not to turn a blind eye to homelessness because, by drawing a religious allusion, “it’s just another day for you and me in paradise“. Collins also appeals directly to God by singing: “Oh Lord, is there nothing more anybody can do? Oh Lord, there must be something you can say.” (wikipedia)

Lyrics
She calls out to the man on the street
‘Sir, can you help me?
It’s cold and I’ve nowhere to sleep,
Is there somewhere you can tell me?’
He walks on, doesn’t look back
He pretends he can’t hear her
Starts to whistle as he crosses the street
Seems embarrassed to be there
Oh think twice, it’s another day for you and me in paradise
Oh think twice, ’cause it’s just another day for you,
You and me in paradise, think about it
She calls out to the man on the street
He can see she’s been crying
She’s got blisters on the soles of her feet
She can’t walk but she’s trying
Oh think twice, ’cause it’s another day for you and me in paradise
Oh think twice, it’s just another day for you,
You and me in paradise, think about it
Oh Lord, is there nothing more anybody can do
Oh Lord, there must be something you can say
You can tell from the lines on her face
You can see that she’s been there
Probably been moved on from every place
Cause she didn’t fit in there
Oh think twice, ’cause another day for you and me in paradise
Oh think twice, it’s just another day for you,
You and me in paradise, just think about it, think about it
It’s just another day for you and me in paradise
It’s just another day for you and me in paradise, paradise
It’s just another day for you and me in paradise
It’s just another day for you and me in paradise, paradise
It’s just another day for you and me
It’s just another day for you and me
It’s just another day for you and me in paradise
In paradise
