Nightmare

“Of all the things you choose in your life, you don’t get to choose what your nightmares are. You don’t pick them: They pick you” John Irving

The above image is a millipede.

They feed on decomposing vegetation, faeces or organic matter mixed with soil, and play an important role in the breakdown of plant litter.

Thus maintain the balance in Nature.

Creepy

What is creepy?

Creepy indicates that there is an unpleasant feeling of fear or unease.

Either the person is nervous or feels threatened. It can also be a creeping sensation in the skin on seeing certain creatures.

It can also mean something about the character of a person. (Weird, Obnoxious)

“Normal is an illusion. What is normal for the spider is chaos for the fly.” Charles Addams

Modern-day Creepiness takes the cake!

“It is seriously creepy when you receive a friend request from a dead friend in social media asking you to accept.”
M.F. Moonzajer

Entomophobia

It’s an extreme and persistent fear of insects.

Do you know the meaning of Formication?

This is a feeling of insects crawling across or underneath your skin.

Said to be an anxiety disorder.

Seeing some of the insects like millipedes, centipedes, crabs, spiders, cockroaches, even caterpillar can give some, this kind of feeling.

Is this Millipede, Centipede, or Caterpillar ??

Millipedes have TWO PAIRS OF LEGS from its each body segment (Number of legs can be from 36 to 400 depending upon the species )

Centipedes are venomous, have ONE PAIR OF LEGS from each body segment (Number of legs can be from 30 to 350 )

Caterpillars have TOTAL SIX LEGS ( Number can reach a maximum of 16) Unlike the above two, Caterpillar produces SILK.

As you have noticed The creature in the photograph has two pairs of legs, hence it is a Millipede. This Millipede has a smooth black body with patches of yellow marked along its sides

Millepede when threatened coils its body into a Spiral

Caterpillars are larval stage of butterflies and moths. Can have 6 legs to 16 legs

All these creatures  play a vital role in soil ecology.
