Love pain-how strong you are?

Eyes

The most beautiful line is ” But I love you ” The most painful line is “I love you, but..”

Any idea what ‘love pain’ is?

“Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn’t it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up”
Neil Gaiman

Love is scarce…Really?

Lonely“The only thing we never get enough of is love, and the only thing we never give enough of is love” Henry Miller

Why does this happen?

We all think that Love means romance. But it is not so.

There are 7 types of love

  1. Storge- Familial love
  2. Phila-friendship (shared goodwill, affectionate love))
  3. Eros-Sexual or passionate love, love of the body
  4. Agape-unconditional love
  5. Ludus-Playful or uncommitted love
  6. Pragma- Long term love (married people)
  7. Philautia-self love (healthy or unhealthy)

( source Psychologytoday.com, Quora)

My discussion is limited to the married couple or any committed relationships (Pragma)

Think for a second.

Can you tell the difference between ‘school and life?

“In school, you are taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you are given a test, that teaches you the lesson” Tom Bodett

So what I am trying to tell is Life allows us to learn lessons from our experience.

In this situation….. day to day problems faced by the couple can make them more accommodating, understanding and helpful to each other since they know what they are facing and the probable solutions.

Thus we can become wiser by experiencing these experiences.

But here is the hitch

The problem comes in the unknown form of ‘E G O nullifying all the benefits of life’s lessons, which we learn throughout time.

Why can’t we attempt to look into this? Why can not we prevent this disease before it strikes us?

When we can manage lifestyle diseases with sugar-free, fat-free, salt-free, gluten-free etc. etc….why can’t we give it a try for Ego-free?

The only way to achieve peace and harmony is becoming ‘EGO LESS’, and this should be the  outcome of your life’s lessons if you are willing to learn.

Another aspect is, to be able to differentiate, the difference between love & Possession.

Don’t think, just because you love the person…you got right to possess the person. (as if the person is a property)

Remember love is selfless, coming from the bottom of the heart with total dedication, sincerity and commitment to lead a supportive life together.

And so…..

We make our life miserable because we never make an attempt to understand the full potential of true love, and thus we make ‘love’ scarce despite its abundance.

True Love gives you, the real experience of what all you dream and

Ego gives you, all the heartache.

“A flower cannot blossom without sunshine, and man cannot live without love” Max Muller

Thursday Thoughts

“Love keeps no record of wrongs, but bitterness keeps detailed accounts.”
Craig Groesche

Above quote is true. Is it not so?

How nice if everybody loves everybody so that no wrong is identified!!

There is no misunderstanding, no mud slinging, no hatred and no bitterness.

World will be so peaceful.

But this is not going to happen

Why?

Because we are humans!!

Thank you for your visit.

Flower of the day

“When you see the flower of happiness on your way, don’t take it immediately; Sit and watch it and realize how rare it is!” Mehmet Murat ildan

Who is in a position to hate flowers?

You must be wondering who on earth hates flowers?

My friend, we are humans. We are beautiful and weird too!

When there is YIN there has to be YANG.

It’s not a surprise if you happen to come across somebody who hates flowers.

Health-related

People who have allergy problem or suffer from bronchial asthma are strictly advised to avoid flowers and other items that emanates fragrance (as per the medical profession).

They may find it difficult to breathe if they come across flowers, shrubs, herbs even trees and they are advised to refrain from smelling the flowers.

Are you aware of Anthophobia?

It’s a persistent and even intense fear of flowers.

The person may fear just one or more flowers.

This condition is said to be extremely rare.

It’s just like many other phobias.

Take it easy and breathe deep.

What does it mean “I don’t like flowers very much?

Don’t draw any conclusions.

It’s OK.

Leave it to the better judgment.

Just move on.

What is the best one can do when one sees a flower?

“You want to do something good for the flowers? Then, keep the flowers in the soil, in nowhere else!” Mehmet Murat Ildan

Cozy

Hammock

“In a hammock, a nice breeze reminds us of why we’re so in love with this life” Mehmet Murat ildan

Cosy vs Cozy

‘Cosy’ is British English and ‘Cozy’ is American English.

Both mean the same.

Cambridge Dictionary says- comfortable, pleasant, inviting or warm

Do you love relaxing in a hammock?

What about hammock camping?

Have you ever slept in a hammock?

My friend, hammocks are relaxing and the experience one gets is a pleasant one.

Its gentle rocking motion helps you to forget your worries and the body goes into relaxation mode and the nice breeze encourages you to go into a deep sleep.

If you happen to be a book lover- I promise you are in Heaven

I need not elaborate further.

Do you remember your baby days?

You may not remember, but I tell you how you felt.

As you were rocked gently in the cradle, you stopped crying, initially, you started smiling and later giggling soon you forgot yourself and entered your world in deep sleep thus allowing your parents to attend their work.

Hammock experience is no different

Hammock rocks you gently to and fro with their soft fabric helping in supporting your body to relax and soon you forget yourself.

Puja Flowers

puja flowers

“When you turn your worries into worship, God will turn your battles into blessings” Unknown

Flowers and their role in World religions is interesting to know.

I am limiting my topic to Hinduism.

Puja and Prarthana

There can be some confusion regarding these two words.

Puja is worshipping God in the form of offering along with chanting slokas.

Prarthana is Prayer or Seeking.

We request God with a feeling of reverence to fulfil our wishes.

What is Puja (Pooja)?

The word Puja in Sanskrit means ‘Worship’

Puja is a ritual in honour of Gods, performed by Hindus.

Puja is performed at home or in temples.

How is Puja performed?

Puja is a loving offer of light, flowers, water or food to the Divine.

In its simplest form Puja constitutes an offering of flowers or fruits to an image of God.

Flowers are offered since they are considered to be the universal symbol of Love and peace.

In Hinduism God doesn’t demand anything costly from his devotes.

In Bhagavad-Gita Lord Krishna says ” If one offers me a drop of water, a blade of grass or a fragrant flower with LOVE AND DEVOTION it pleases me”

The Reasons why flowers are offered to God

Which Flowers are offered to Hindu Gods and Goddesses?

Jasmine, Marigold, Lotus, Parijata (Night flowering coral jasmine), Red hibiscus, roses, Datura, Palash, Tulsi, Crown flower, Red Oleander.
