“Not judging people is the fastest way to peace.” Jonathan Jackson

I’m fine, I’m just not happy

What is this man up to?

I don’t know.

But I am curious.

✔From his appearance, I guess he is between 45 to 55 yrs of age.

✔You see him sitting on the pavement and leaning towards the compound wall and looking at something. Looks like he is trying to concentrate on something important.

✔And he is wearing a blue shirt and navy blue pant…maybe he is a security staff?

✔Both his hands clasped. And any hints of his body language?

✔Maybe this signifies some kind of unsettling thought—fear, anxiety or insecurity.

✔Sitting on the pavement tells you, the status of the person in the so-called society.

Oh! so much of a calculated guess!

Congratulations. I have become a real Sherlock Holmes!

Is he in some scary thoughts?

Does he not look like, he is a worried lot?

Surely he doesn’t seem to be happy.

My guess is he is lost in some thoughts, maybe in deep thoughts.

“When you experience loss, people say you’ll move through the 5 stages of grief….
Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance
….. What they don’t tell you is that you’ll cycle through them all every day.”  Ranata Suzuki

Why am I trying to judge, guess, or even think as to what is running in this person’s mind?

What way it’s my business?

But still, the photographer in me made to take a snapshot of this gentleman.

The only thing I wish and pray is not to judge the person by his dress, by his posture, whether he is sitting in a car or on a pavement!

“There is a story behind every person. There is a reason why they’re the way they are. Think about that before you judge someone”  Unknown

I stopped being judgmental.

I am not as intelligent as I thought to be.

“Judgement is often no more than a confession of ignorance”   Bill Clegg

How much time do you take judging others?

It’s said we judge people within the first 7 seconds of meeting and we feel proud of our talent!

Do you believe in the theory that “The first impression is the best impression’?

The first impression no doubt matters, but don’t jump to the conclusion.

We waste no time judging others and we are obsessed to judge others.

If you start judging others instantly then you belong to narrow minded personality.

It’s a love-hate relationship

What do I mean by this?

My friend each one of us loves to judge others but we hate to be judged.

Why we judge?

Because we come from different backgrounds, thousands of perceptions, and questionable upbringing.

May be some amount of pride. is the culprit.

We all have our point of view.

We have our perception of reality which we think a God-given gift!

We find gratification!

Some even said it’s a survival instinct!!

Why judging others has become so easy?

“Not all scars show.

Not all wounds heal.

Not all illnesses can be seen.

Not all pain is obvious.

Remember this before passing judgment on another Unknown

What you are supposed to do when you are constantly judged?

“When they judge you, yawn.
When they misunderstand you, smile.
When they underestimate you, laugh.
When they condemn you, ignore.
When they envy you, rejoice.
When they oppose you, prevail.”
Matshona Dhliwayo

Have a blessed day.

Society’s sad truths

society's sad truths

Society exists only as a mental concept; in the real world there are only individuals. Oscar Wilde

It’s a 6.3 minute read

What is Society ?

Cambridge dictionary defines it as

A large group of people who live together in an organised  way, making decisions about how to do things and sharing the work  that needs to be done. All the people  in a country, or in several similar countries, can be referred to as a society.

What are the constituents of present society?

I am not sure. You can help me understand better.

I am as confused as you are,

My guess is, you automatically become part of society, the day you are born. ( free membership )

Welcome to our society

Don’t we all strictly follow what society says ?

Then why you say you are not happy with the society or why society says you are not up to its set up standards ?

Where things going wrong ?

Can Society be the great manipulator?

“Society is funny. They ask you to be yourself and yet they judge you”   random

Every single person on the planet has a story. But society does not have time to listen to the story.

Society judges you based on  whether you are rich or poor, you are beautiful or ugly, how you dress, how you behave, your tastes, your likes.

Society does micro inspection of your so called imperfections, and by magnifying it, decides your worth

It is interested to know the company and the friends you have.

If you are an introvert you are made funny. If you are an extrovert, you are made to learn advantages of  of being quiet.

You can’t escape the society you created, whose presence you feel every second of your existence.

You think you are proud in naming somebody as ‘black sheep’?

But do you know what this  ‘black sheep’ is telling ? Read.

” I may be the black sheep of your society, but some of your white sheep’s aren’t as white as they appear!”     unknown.

And what about Karma’s statement ?

” Sometimes you have to suffer in life, not because you were bad but because you didn’t realize where to stop being good”.

And John Lennon’s statement….

“Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we’re being run by maniacs for maniacal ends and I think I’m liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That’s what’s insane about it.”

Do you know the power of influence of the society on you ?

Some examples

  • Even the prettiest girl feels ugly sometimes
  • The happiest girl cries at night
  • The most independent girl feels alone
  • Double standards & hypocrisy at every opportunity and accepted as norms
  • By introducing beauty products, cosmetic surgeries…you are made to look inferior to others
  • Turning blind eye to the events, and none can complain
  • Money is more important than Human values

7 lies by which Society misguides you

We might all be living different lives, when it comes down to it,we are all fighting the same monsters. unknown

Society prepares the crime, the criminal commits it.      Henry Thomas Buckle

You are hated ,because the way you are loved by others.

Society says Everyone is beautiful, but still hates ugliness.

Society confuses you

  • Be you,they say
  • But then they tell me to change
  • Be unique they say
  • But they frown at my indifference
  • Don’t conform,they say
  • But then they mold me to their standards
  • Love yourself, they say
  • But then they say I am arrogant
  • Be kind, they say
  • But then they tell me I am a fake
  • Relax,they say
  • But then they call me lazy
  • Work hard,they say
  • But then they say I am uptight
  • Money can not buy happiness, they say
  • But then they laugh at me for being poor
  • Weight does not matter, they say
  • But then they say I am not skinny enough
  • Cherish your youth, they say
  • But then they tell me to grow up
  • Slow down ,they say
  • But then they rush my decisions
  • It’s OK to be sad,they say
  • But then they tell me other people have it worse
  • Do what you love, they say
  • But then they tell me i won’t be successful
  • You will be OK,they say
  • But then they leave me to rot
  • Be you, they say
  • But I no longer know what that is

Society has become so fake that ,the truth actually bothers people   unknown

Is perfect society possible ?

Again ,I don’t have an answer.

You can help me in guiding me what constitutes a perfect society.

How to be part of the society ?

Always remember that for every deed there is a good side and bad side of the story.

Ultimately you have decide yourself.

Whenever others disapprove of you, you must disregard them and be the only one to judge your own decisions and actions.
Amy Tan

Take home Message

(3 points to remember)

1.We always blame society for all our problems, but we are part of the society whether you like it or not.

2.So to make it a better place we must change ourselves first.

3.We as a society must stop being judgmental.

Can you answer ?( Question series no-44 )

I don't give a hoot

I’m not gonna worry about what people think about me. I’m too busy. I don’t give a hoot. Cyndi Lauper

Life has always been cruel.

Society including your dear & near ones, always enjoy putting down, judging or belittling you or others and get the sadistic pleasure out of this.

You come across many situations ,where in you have to swallow your pride and keep quite by shutting your mouth.

You are helpless and at the mercy of the Hell, who knows ?

Is it possible to say F**k off….in real life ?

If it is so…at what stage ?

Have you faced any such breaking point, where you boldly said ‘Enough is enough’ in spite of knowing that you are vulnerable ?

Any tips you would like to share ?

Thank you.

Why do we Judge others ? Do we have the right ?

“Judge not, that ye be not judged”  Matthew 7:1

It’s 2.5 minute read,GO ahead if you have time & inclination.Thank you.

I am not talking about friends & relatives judging us or vice versa.

I am talking about people we come across in our day-to-day life, whom we know nothing about ( unknown to us ).

It is but natural for all of us to judge the other person with an electrifying speed !

How do we judge a person ?

By appearance= Facial-ugly or beautiful ..Body build -fat or thin ?

Body Language ?

By color ? Whether smiled or not ? By hairstyle ?

By Behavior ?   By  person’s dress ? By seeing the tattoos and piercings ?

Is it true that ‘ First impression is the best impression’ ?

And  later on many times we felt sorry that our first impression went horribly wrong!

Then why we jump to judge people ? Do we have any right ?

Probable reasons for rushing to Judgment …..

Is it because of fear of the unknown?

Is it because…I can never go wrong, (mind-set)

Is it because we think we are superior and at the top of pyramid and rest are lesser mortals ?

Is it because ,we are insecure about ourselves?

Are we not lying to ourselves by judging others ?  The answer is ……

“Judge me if you want, but at the end of my life, I choose to have memories not regrets.”  Steve Maraboli

Read this story

A 24-year-old boy seeing out from the train window, shouted…

“Dad look the trees are going behind!”,dad smiled and a young couple sitting nearby, looked at the 24 year old’s childish behavior with pity, suddenly he again exclaimed…”dad,look..the clouds are running with us!”

The couple couldn’t resist and said to the old man…”why don’t you take your son to a good doctor ?”.The old man smiled and said….I did and we are just coming from the hospital,my son was blind from the birth,he just got his eyes today…”

Every single person on the planet has a story.

Don’t judge people before you truly know them. The truth might surprise you.

“Judge tenderly, if you must. There is usually a side you have not heard, a story you know nothing about, and a battle waged that you are not having to fight.” Traci Lea LaRussa11

Judging the other in a flash of second…….I call it blind Judgement.

“Judging others make us blind.where as love is illuminating.By judging others we blind ourselves to our own ( short comings ) and to the grace which others are just as entitled to as we are.” Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Any thoughts you have ? Would you like to share ?

Thank you.

Which face you will wear to day ?

This is a 3 minute read,

“Everyone is a moon, and has a dark side which he never shows to anybody.”Mark Twain

I am not talking of the personality disorder which we come across in the Medical World…..I am talking about the normal, perfect down to earth gentlemen and gentlewomen, who invariably have two faces, sometimes many faces ( multifaceted indeed! )

“Everyone  has two faces but often we see only one side of them,so never judge anyone by their looks, because ,truth might surprise you” !    ‘unknown’

Have you any time seriously gazed your soul ?

I think we are all not just actors but great actors. Some examples,

1.You agree with me that wives hide (secrets) things from husbands, and husbands hide things from wives, but each will be talking to other sweetly and kindly.

2.All Men talk differently when they are with wives, and when the wives are not around.(men there… ..you know what I mean )

3. We preach our kids, but practice quite opposite.

4.Young boys and girls as lovers, constantly lie to each other which suits the situation.

5.We shout at our children and wives for no fault of theirs, but show sweet face to the boss,in spite of getting abused.

6.Married men ,when they come across a single woman, try,to attract her attention, but when wives are with them…it is a different behavior !

7.Our offline behavior is in contrast to our online behavior. You may be a beggar in real life ,but on social media you flaunt all your richness from nowhere !

8. You can see ,Professional child kidnapper/killer is a dedicated father to his kids.

I can go on and on…..

We all wear masks.

Let us be frank. And that is the way of life ! And we have to live that life if we want to survive in this wretched world.

And the worst part, you know…..even with God we play our duality !

“There’s a duality of a guy calling on God: ‘Where are you when I need you’ and the,at the same time .’God helps those who helps themselves.’…I think that contradiction does exist in all of us ,those of faith and those who profess to have no faith.  ‘JoeCornahan’

Now that we realized that all of us have two faces( dual personalities)….now it becomes even more scary.

“It’s not about who’s real to your face,

It’s about who’s real behind your back”   unknown

So be busy checking your back frequently !

And wishing and praying that, let 2019 bring just the single and original face of ours all the time !

Thank you  Philosophy through photography

Before you Judge me……….

put yourself in someone's shoes,judgmental

“Always put yourself  in other peoples shoes” A well known Idiom

Joke part of the idiom

“Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that who cares?…He is a mile away and you’ve got his shoes”.   Billy Connolly.

Remember the the whole world revolves around the ‘mind set’ and  every thought that crosses your mind is influenced by the ‘PERCEPTION’ which is already settled in your mind that can influence the outcome.

Real part of the Idiom

Is this idea of putting yourself in someone else’s shoes …does this really works all the time ?

For this idiom to work, one must have a through knowledge about three things.1.Empathy. 2.Sympathy and 3. Compassion.

Unless one possesses these three qualities, the idiom does not serve the purpose. The help, what you think you are lending to the needy, need not necessarily be appreciated by the needy since Needy’s perception of your help may be different and sometimes just opposite.

How Putting Yourself in Someone Else’s Shoes May Backfire

“Before you judge me, please give Benefit of doubt, an opportunity”

Past deed

According to Oscar Wilde , the Great Poet & PlayWriter

Do you agree ?

He says, it is the only way to judge the people

Personally I don’t agree.

Don’t you think people should be judged by the present actions and by the results produced by these actions (I mean good or bad),rather than past deeds?

If one looks into one’s past, be one’s childhood, adulthod,or middle age or old age, even centurion…..

One can find that, One is in the continuous learning process as the next second in One’s life becomes one’s immediate past

People can change for the good , as time goes?

Judging someone does not define who they are, it defines who you are

Your past mistakes are nothing but your  experiences ,making you move forward by the realisation of the facts and becoming a better person.                                                                                        ZExnQWFe-01.jpeg                                           Society too should be compassionate and not label the person in negativity forever.
