On 1 st March, people around the world join together to celebrate Zero Discrimination Day.

The UN celebrated Zero Discrimination Day on March 1 st 2014,after UNAIDS,a UN programme on human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and acquired immune deficiency syndrome ( AIDS ) launched its Zero Discrimination Campaign on World Aids Day in December 2013.

Discrimination continues to undermine the efforts to achieve a more just and equitable world and causes pain and suffering for many. discrimination has many forms, from racial or religious discrimination to discrimination based on gender, sexual orientation or age ,and bullying at school or work.

“Only people who have been discriminated against can really know how much it hurts. Each person feels the pain in his own way, each has his own scars. So I think I’m as concerned about fairness and justice as anybody. But what disgusts me even more are people who have no imagination. The kind T. S. Elliot calls ‘hollow men’. People who fill up that lack of imagination with heartless bits of straw, not even aware of what they’re doing. Callous people who throw a lot of empty words at you, trying to force you to do what you don’t want to”.       Haruki Murakami

The symbol for Zero Discrimation Day is the butterfly.widely used by people to share their stories and photos as a way to end discrimination and work towards positive transformation.

‘wishing a Happy Zero Discrimination Day’ to all my WP friends.

Thank you
