Welcome to the missing seat!

“When we look at an empty chair and say ‘the chair is empty’, the ’emptiness’ gets angry because the chair is actually not empty, the ’emptiness’ is sitting there!” Mehmet Murat ildan

It amazed me to see this chair

Is this a missing seat or an empty chair?

Why it’s kept?

What is the idea behind it?

Is somebody trying to make a fool of us?

Does somebody want to send us a message?

What type of message?

I am not sure.

In this type of situation, what one can do best?

“There is something much better than sitting on an empty chair and that is to watch it and to let it inspire you to think deeply!”
Mehmet Murat ildan

Is emptiness important in our life?

Yes.

My friend, we require emptiness for us so that we can fill it up with what we wish to possess.

But western & eastern philosophies have opposite views

Yes, while the western world sees emptiness as negative (Depression/Nihilism) resulting in anxiety.

The eastern world thinks of it as a positive aspect of life.

According to Lao Tzu,

He gives examples of the Center hole in a Wheel, the Emptiness of a pot and the Empty space in a house.

Because there is an emptiness in these situations, things become valuable.

“We join spokes together in a wheel, but it is the centre hole that makes the wagon move. We shape clay into a pot, but it is the emptiness inside that holds whatever we want. We hammer wood for a house, but it is the inner space that makes it livable.”

Thank you.
