Decoration

“Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Design is knowing which ones to keep” Scott Adams

The above image is a decorative piece.

If you notice, there are three rounded structures with multiple small pieces of a thin plastic sheet of different shapes.

What is this art piece conveying to you?

I struggled a lot to make out without any success.

It’s OK…I’m not an artist.

“A common defect of modern art study is that too many students don’t know why they draw” Robert Henri

Thank you for your visit.

Take care, my friend.

“There is no better designer than Nature” Alexander McQueen

The above photo is taken from my ‘One plus 6’ mobile.

This shot was taken when rainwater was accumulating on the ground and droplets of rain falling from the tree above giving us a glimpse of Mother Nature’s design in different shapes-polygonal, circular, ripples and wavy… all- in- one.

You can’t stop wondering about the designs of Mother Nature.

“What is art monsieur, but Nature concentrated?” Honore de Balzac

Can we have designs of our own?

What about the claims made by the designers?

My friend, we are nobody if wish to compare with Mother Nature.

We are only stealing ideas from mother nature since mother nature never claims to own Copywrite!

“Art will never be able to exist without Mother Nature” Pierre Bonnard

Can Mother Nature ever get angry because we steal her ideas?

Never, never and never my friend.

You may ask what about the people who say that Mother Nature gets angry?

Yes. They are right.

Mother Nature can get angry for a different cause.

Her anger is justified and I need not go into the details except a mention of the Corona pandemic and the havoc it caused.

Lessons learned

Nil.

Who cares?

We are too proud of our achievements by destroying Nature.

We have become greedy.

And everybody is busy with their own lives either making money or struggling to survive. (Both ways can result in the destruction)

No time to even think.

Are we helpless?

Looks so.

Who are the ultimate sufferers?

Our children, our children’s children, our children’s children’s children…

Looks like we hate our children and their future kids.

The irony is that we all talk of a ‘loving family’!!

One thing is sure

“Mother Nature knows very well how to take revenge so be careful before hurting Nature” Unknown

Polygons

When the family world acquired me

Hence our mathematics of Love still going on”  Renu Rathore

What is a polygon?

Polygon is defined as a flat or two-dimensional closed shape with straight lines.

Indo Saracenic Architecture

Indo Saracenic architecture was used by the British and also by the kingdoms under British rule in India, in the 19th century.

Here the architect is a mixture of Islamic And European designs. A few examples include a combination of Hindu temple architecture.

“Architecture should speak of its time and place, but yearn for timelessness” Frank Gehry

Kaleidoscope

A kaleidoscope is an optical instrument.

Kaleidoscopes are toys that always mesmerised us during our childhood.

As adults, we too enjoy the designs it creates.

Sir David Brewster of Scotland invented this instrument.

The term Kaleidoscope has originated by utilising Greek words…meaning ‘observer of beautiful forms’ (wonderpolis.org) also means, a changing and enjoyable mixture or pattern. (Cambridge Dictionary)

Do Kaleidoscopes remind you of anything?

Just think my friend.

Our lives remind us how things can change with in a blink of an eye!

“Life is like an ever-shifting kaleidoscope – a slight change and all patterns alter” Sharon Salzberg

Patterns

What is pattern?

A pattern is an arrangement of lines or shapes, especially a design, in which the same shape is repeated at regular intervals over the surface- Collins dictionary

Man-made ‘Pattern’

“Cutting down a tree is like cutting down your own supply of oxygen” Unknown

If you notice the above image, it’s a cut portion of a tree trunk.

The pattern on the cut portion shows so many vertical lines apart from the trunk’s original circular bands.

The vertical pattern is due to sawing.

It’s unfortunate that the trunk was pruned, on enquiry I understand that this particular trunk was infested with fungus and needed immediate attention, as it can fall any time.

God made ‘pattern’

“God is the creator of incredible beauty and all that He envisioned and desired to create, He also desired to share” Michelle Carbotte

This begs answer for a question.

Can we be original?

I doubt.

Anything and everything we imitate Mother Nature.

Let us not claim that we have originality.

Thank you for visiting my site.

Take care my friend.
