Fruit seller

“Never haggle with street vendors. They do business to run their family. Their sole purpose is to survive with dignity and respect. They prefer to go to bed without food rather than living a life of dishonesty” Lourdes Alexander

Roadside Fruit sellers

In India, it’s a common sight to come across fruit sellers, on either side of the major roads.

Always I admire the fruit seller selling a variety of fruits arranged neatly in an order, so colourful and eye-catching!.

The fruits look fresh, shining and mouthwatering.

But their life is not all that colourful

I also wonder how they manage to survive if there are no buyers, since fruits are perishable, causing financial loss to the seller.

They keep these items in a pushcart on the side of the road/pavement and patiently wait for the buyer to approach.

Another problem they face is competition among themselves since most of them have their cart next to each other and attracting a customer is a herculean task and the competition is stiff.

Who is harassing whom?

On top of this, the worst thing that happens to them is the bargaining tactic of the customer.

I feel the customer harass them and move on to the next seller if their bargain is not fruitful!

The irony is the same customer talks of how the sellers are greedy and fleece them left, right and centre, initially quoting a very high price for the fruits and later bringing down the prices as if they are helplessly selling at a loss.

Who is telling the truth?

I don’t know. I am as confused as you are!

But I can tell that they are the ones belonging to the lowest income bracket, without education and struggling to survive daily.

There is news that some of them are taxpayers!

Chat, Pan Sellers, Fruit vendors are millionaires in this UP city!! IT officers shocked!

May be there is a way to make money and not all are successful.

Thank you for visiting my site and taking your time to read.

Take care, my friend.

LAPC # 166- Artificial Light

“Life’s true face is the skull” Nikos Kazantzakis

“Light always follows the path of the beautiful” Unknown

Well said.

What is our true beauty?

Our inherent beauty is covered by skin and flesh, once you remove them you get the original beauty.

The original beauty in the form of the skeleton is similar both for men and women.

That’s our actual beauty, appearance-wise.

Do we love it?

Ironically we hate to even have a glance.

We fear them (skelephobia).

Many say human skulls are ugly and scary.

My guess is people are scared because the very thought of a skull reminds one, of death.

But certain people who study medicine, forensic specialists and police personnel are used the skulls.

I understand that those who practice ‘black magic’ or witchcraft’ use humans and animal skulls.

What is the real definition of beauty? (when we are alive)

Strangely all of us come with different definitions.

Depends on individual mindset.

People see beauty in appearance, dress, jewellery, hairstyle, perfect body…and the list is long.

“People who look for only external beauty have not yet learnt the true meaning of beauty. True beauty is not in how people look. It is in how people love, care, and share”
Avijeet Das

My definition of beauty is being ‘happy’ irrespective of the events in one’s life.

Divine Light

“Everything happens in divine order. The good, the bad, the unexpected & the unfortunate. No matter what is in front of you, it’s part of your path. Follow, trust, believe, forgive, be grateful and keep pushing!!” Unknown

Images of God are an essential part of Hindu religious festivals.

Large images of Deity, studded with a series of lights glowing with different bright colours are common and shine brightly during the nighttime.

How are these Images with colourful lights made?

The picture of the Deity is sketched out in chalk on the ground, and bamboo is cut to form the frame accordingly. Now serial lights are placed along the outline of the picture and in the majority of the cases, electricians and artists join together to give a Divine appearance.

Thank you for visiting my site.

Take care, my friend.

Everybody wants their life to be colourful

This mainly includes their love life.

But in reality (Time immemorial) are not people deceiving themselves by this thought?

Can ‘Love’ be colourful when the majority is busy cheating each other?

Looks like ‘Love’ can’t be colourful

It seems so if you read the following quote.

“Love is ageless and colourless. It is a spiritual force that binds two hearts and two souls together as one.”
Ellen J. Barrier

Forget about colourless love.

Can two hearts & two souls become one?

Don’t take this literally but can such things be possible?

Maybe a pleasant way of cheating one another in a poetical style!

Is not these poetical statements far from the truth in day to day life?

No doubt poetry gives immense encouragement for all good things and one is energized.

What about poetical justice in matters of Love, especially when cheating is rampant?

My friend, feel free to share your thoughts.

 Thank you.

Colourless Wings

“The most colorful thing in the world is black and white, it contains all colors and at the same time excludes all.” Vikrmn

I felt something different about this dragonfly.

Every time I come across a dragonfly, I notice its colourful wings.

The dragonfly above showing Black & white wings and a colourful body. Strangely its face & mouth resembling that of a monkey(side post..profile view).

Do you like colourful life or colourless life my friend?

Everybody wishes their lives to be colourful throughout.

But is this possible?

Do you love Black & White or Colourful Life?

You may find this a silly question!

I know the majority love colours. We love being colourful.

Black & White movies are obsolete. None enjoys those black and white movies anymore.

Millennials may wonder how oldies used to enjoy these movies. And great movies used to run more than 100 days!

Many festivals are dedicated to colours.

You can always come across various colourful events.

No event manager conducts events in black and white.

You can easily find a person in a colourful dress.

Nature always enthrals you with its fantastic colours.

You can also be dealing with many colourful personalities.

So colour everywhere! But…

Can you find a colourful Heart?

“A colourful body with fabrics, tattoos and jewellery are attractive, but a colourful heart with love, truth and faith is beautiful.”   Anthony Liccione

Sadly it’s nowhere!

And your attempts to search for one…going to be futile!

Thank you.

The moment I noticed this fly, I got attracted, and why it is so?

“Colour is a power which directly influences the soul” Wassily Kandinsky

Is this not true?

All of us wish to lead our lives colorfully!

I got attracted to this fly because of its flashy colors.

About Condylostylus

It’s a genus of flies with more than 250 species.

The fly is said to be seen during June and August.

Its eyes can be green or red.

Thorax and Body color can be green or bronze.

These flies have long legs.

The fly is a predator for small plant insects like mites.

This fly measures 6 mm.

Said to be harmless to humans even help us by getting rid of the pests!

What is the human reaction whenever a fly is spotted?

And who got time to check whether the fly spotted is harmless or harmful or helpful?

Humans are experts in killings/destruction.

“I ask people why they have deer heads on their walls. They always say because it’s such a beautiful animal. There you go. I think my mother is attractive, but I have photographs of her.”  Ellen DeGeneres

Humans are always itching for something!

Whatever is available to us at that moment we try to swat and kill it.

We even don’t mind using our hands to kill it.

“No doubt, humans will do a lot of damage before we ultimately destroy ourselves. But life will continue without humans. New forms of intelligence will emerge long after this human experiment is over.”
Zeena Schreck

Nature does its best to save the human race. But are we listening?

Do you know that insects are the ‘Unsung Heroes’ running your world?

Yes, my friend.

Unfortunately, the general impression given is that insects are disease-carrying and crop-eating demons.

The harmful insects form a tiny portion of the vast insect world.

Do you know that if at all we are existing it’s because of these insects?

They help to pollinate plants, also keep the population of agricultural pests under control, even help decomposition of animal waste.

Check this link, if you find time WHAT OUR WORLD LOOK WITHOUT HONEY BEES?🐝

When a Bee can do this free social service, imagine the role of other insects for our very survival!!

Is it moral or immoral to kill a fly?

I don’t know. You can share your views.

It’s up to the individual decision I guess.

But still, insects are beautiful!

My experience in Photographing this particular fly

I noticed that this fly moves fast and jumps quickly, and I found it is very difficult to photography it especially with a Macro Lens.

PS- if I am missing any information about this fly, please free to correct me. I am not an expert in Fly taxonomy

Thank you.

Let us lead a colorful life

“Color! What a deep and mysterious language, the language of dreams.”  Paul Gauguin

Wishing everyone a colorful life and let us all unitedly fight the monster called COVID!

The existence of Red, blue, and yellow and various hues derived from them is always intriguing.

Color is derived from the light, and without light, there is no color and no colorful life!

Simply put color manifests as ‘beauty’.

We all love colors. A splash of color can make all the difference.

In India, we celebrate a festival called ‘Holi’, described as the Festival of Colours.

Onam is another colorful festival, popularly known as the festival of flowers, celebrated in Kerala State of Southern India. The Onam festival is a unique experience. It’s a 10-day long festival celebrated between August & September every year.

Floral arrangement is worth experiencing. the floral carpet is known as Pookkalam.

The colorful flower decorations are done on the floor, at the entrance.

Contemporary Art-What you understand after seeing,if you are not an artist ?

Contemporary art

“A Picture is worth a thousand words-particularly if you can’t read “. Harry Hershfield            Photo by Steve Johnson on Unsplash

All of us can’t be artists

As a layman,I always wonder is there any subtle message in the contemporary art.

At first glance I am able to make out colors & brush strokes and the art appears colorful and I am confidant that, I can come out with some message as I continue to imagine the possibilities.A kind of challenge to my brain.

Are art & design different or same ? My small brain not able to decipher.

I understand that the contemporary art resonates with the soul of the artist and has much deeper meaning.

I agree with the thoughts of the artist, and one must think about what exactly the artist is trying to convey. It gives immense pleasure if you can derive your own meaning and the artist is truly delighted.

Is it a good idea if the viewer is not sure of what the art conveys ?

I feel the viewer should come out with their own thoughts instead of pondering.

If you still can’t understand ,you can always check with the Artist and get enriched regarding the artist’s thought process.

Probably interpretation of the art by you depends on how intelligent you are !

Please share your thoughts on Modern art & Contemporary art and any methods to interpret the meaning.

Some lighter moment-

Dave walks into an Art Gallery

Dave: I suppose this horrible looking thing is what you call modern art ?

Art Dealer: I beg your pardon sir, that is a mirror.

Your views and thoughts very much appreciated.

Thank you .
