Nature’s Twist

Life’s Lesson- ‘Life is never a straight line. It’s full of twists and turns. The way to lead a happy life is not to avoid them but embrace them; To find the happiness in them” Warren T VanderVen

Human’s twist

We can never own originality.

We are expert copying-masters of Mother Nature!

Have you ever tasted Fusilli Pasta?

If not my friend, remember you are missing something in your life!

Around the world, there are 600 shapes of pasta with 1300 names!

Nothing is impastable!!😃😃

What is the difference between pasta and macaroni?

Macaroni and pasta have the same formula except for the shape.

Pasta appears in many shapes, while macaroni is seen in one shape (elbow shape or C-shape)

I understand that macaroni is more popular than pasta.

Macaroni has longer shell life compared to pasta.

Hey, hot stuff!!

Green Chillies

Green Chilli

Do you know that there is a day celebrated internationally known as ‘International hot and spicy food day’?

Every year the day is celebrated on 16th January.

You are aware that chilli peppers are one of the hottest foods on the planet.

Oh! These chillies!!

We Indians love Green Chilli.

Let me come straight to the point.

We love spicy food.

Indians are raised with chilli and are so used to this chilli fruit, that any food that lacks chilli is too bland and the joy of eating food is lost!

We love adding them to our curries and a few of us enjoy eating raw.

( Warning ⚠ eating raw chillies is not advised).

You can include it in salad or pickles and then consume it.

There is some philosophy of life too if you dare to eat raw chilli

“Embarrassment felt a lot like eating chilli peppers. It burned in the back of your throat and there was nothing you could do to make it go away. You just had to take it, suffer from it, until it eased off” Sarah Addison Allen

As an Indian, you also agree that spicy fruit is an important part of all our meals.

Do you know the benefits of green chillies my friend?

Green chillies contain water and have no cholesterol

Boosting Metabolism– Green chillies helps in losing weight. Surprised? Chillies are said to boost metabolism by 50%. How? They are rich in an antioxidant called CAPSAICIN, which produces warmth in the body and accelerates metabolic rate. Added to this green chillies are low in calories. For other benefits of CAPSAICIN, please check this link- CAPSAICIN

Maintains blood sugar level– Said to be helpful for diabetics (if consumed in small quantities)

Additional benefits– It has Vitamin A, B 6, calcium. Good for skin.

Anti-inflammatory– said to help patients with osteoarthritis.

How many green chilli recipes are there?

There are too many and if any one of you are interested, can always take the help of YouTube.

The one I am going to mention is Green Chilli Pakora

Straight lines

Man-made straight lines

Straight lines

“Today we live in a chaos of straight lines, in a jungle of straight lines. If you do not believe this, take the trouble to count the straight lines which surround you. Then you will understand, for you will never finish counting” Friedensreich Hundertwasser

Nature’s Straight lines

Who said there are no straight lines in Nature?

They are utterly wrong.

Just notice the straight lines of a banana leaf.

You agree with me.

Straight lines, Banana Leaf

Banana Leaf

Westerns may find it strange to eat food served on a banana leaf.

India has a long tradition of serving food on banana leaves.

This is a common sight in South India.

food served on a banana leaf

This is very commonly noticed during festival seasons.

Why you must eat on a banana leaf?

  1. Antioxidants– Banana leaves contain a large amount of Polyphenols. Food served on banana leaves absorbs these polyphenols which can prevent many lifestyle diseases.
  2. Eco-friendly– By opting for banana leaves you can ditch those disposable plastic plates. Unlike the plastic plates, banana leaves decompose in a very short time (Helping mother nature) and one can avoid those chemical-based dishwashing liquids
  3. Economical– You need not worry about spending tons on those utensils.
  4. Hygienic- It’s more hygienic compared to those utensils which may contain traces of chemicals even after washing.
  5. Go green – A perfect example for going green.

Curvy

Are people obsessed with curves?

I don’t know.

Human psychology is very complex.

So no meaning in attempting to get a justifiable answer.

Beauty experts swear by curves.

Who is eligible to decide what constitutes ‘Beauty’?

What is the definition of beauty?

Are not people unnecessarily torturing themselves to reach size 0?

“How beautiful would it be if we could just see souls instead of bodies? To see love and compassion instead of curves” Karen Quan

What is the real curve in anybody’s body?

A smile is the most beautiful curve on any body.

Please share your thoughts on being ‘CURVY’

Trio Circles

“A circle is the longest distance to same point” Tom Stoppard

The very thought of ‘circle’ is interesting.

We are all aware of the circle of life.

Life is unending from birth to death happening in a circle.

Day to day circle of life

“Generally it appears the case that, when faced with all life’s problems, the baby, he wants to cry about everything, the child wants to question everything, the teenager wants to rebel against everything, the young adult wants to solve everything, the middle-aged adult wants to protect everything, and the elder wants to accept everything Criss Jami

Greatest Love of all

“One of the greatest titles in the world is parent, and one of the biggest blessings in the world is to have parents to call mom and dad” Jim DeMint

One of the greatest loves in this world is that of a parent for the child.

This kind of love one experiences as a parent especially when the child is less than 5 years, can’t be described.

I feel this is the greatest love of all and can’t be compared to other types of Love.

The most difficult thing in this world

To love and to be loved throughout ones life is the most difficult thing to happen.

If one is fortunate one can feel the Sun from both sides.

Can you vouch that you are this lucky?

I doubt.

What does Sun teach us?

“The Sun is a daily reminder that  we too can rise again from the darkness, that we too can shine our own light ” S Ajna
