The world is quiet here- Lemony Snicket

Beach we

“Dear Ocean, thank you for making us feel tiny, humbled, inspired, and salty …all at once” unknown

I always love relaxing on the beach.

Love relaxing on a parasols

For me, it’s the quiet place to keep my monkey mind at rest, which is otherwise impossible to quieten.

Why?

My friend, our lives are full of anxious moments.

You are not sure when you are at peace with yourself.

So this is what I do.

You can also try.

“When anxious, uneasy and bad thoughts come, I go to the sea, and the sea drowns them out with its great wide sounds, cleanses me with its noise, and imposes a rhythm upon everything in me that is bewildered and confused.”  Rainer Maria Rilke

After relaxing what do I do?

I just take a walk and my mind becomes more peaceful.

“Nothing soothes the soul like a walk on the beach” unknown

Thank you for visiting my site and taking your time to read.

Take care, my friend.

Namaste 🙏🙏🙏

Humans and Laziness

Humans are wired for laziness.

Do you undertake a walk daily come whatever may?

I know you, my friend, you are ready with varieties of excuses.

Again the point is nobody is ashamed of laziness.

Why?

I don’t know.

Perhaps you can explain better.

Thank you.

The sound and smell of the sea cleanses my soul

“The ocean doesn’t complain about the dance of ten million waves; So don’t be concerned with the rise and fall of thoughts” Papaji

What is a seashore?

A seashore is where the sea meets the land.

It changes when the tide goes in and out.

Seashore is always colourful to watch.

You can call the seashore the coast, the beach or the shore.

Why do we all love the beach?

My friend, the beach offers a gorgeous view of the land and sea.

Walking on the sand and watching the waves hitting the shore and listening to the typical beach sound, makes you calm and you are at peace yourself.

You also become humble as to how tiny you are as compared to the vastness of the ocean.

And the amazing Sunrise and Sunset?

Lucky are the ones who have beaches in their place of living.

What about a beach vacation?

The beach vacation is said to be the most relaxing.

Not just kids, adults too enjoy watching the sea waves hitting the shore.

Nothing like standing on the shore as the waves come and go relentlessly!

“When anxious, uneasy and bad thoughts come, I go to the sea, and the sea drowns them out with its great wide sounds, cleanses me with its noise, and imposes a rhythm upon everything in me that is bewildered and confused.”  Rainer Maria Rilke

Do you follow  Beach Rules whenever you visit a beach?

“Beach Rules:

Soak up the sun.

Ride the waves.

Breathe the salty air.

Feel the breeze.

Build sandcastles.

Rest, relax, reflect.

Collect seashells.

Bare-feet required.” Unknown

Ocean’s Wisdom

“Advice from the Ocean:

Be shore of yourself.

Come out of your shell.

Take time to coast.

Avoid pier pressure.

Sea life’s beauty.

Don’t get so tide down on work that you miss out on life’s beautiful waves.”  Unknown

Thank you.

Title quote -anonymous

Keep calm and go to the beach

“You all want to know what my dream is? Very simple. To walk along the beach, holding the hand of my lover.” Michelle Bachelet

My friend, all of us are not lucky to be associated with the beach.

Many of those who are lucky are not finding time to go to the beach.

What a sad state!

Why it is so?

Either they are too busy or worried a lot about the future and wasting their valuable time.

They forget that the sea and its beach have a profound effect, by converting our negative moods into positive ones.

“Take all your worries to the beach and wave them goodbye.” The Diary of a Nomad.

All of us love the sound of the ocean on the beach.

Beach Day

National beach day is celebrated on August 30, providing an opportunity to keep these relaxing places clean.

World beach day celebrated on September 1st

POSTCARD FROM THE PAST

This Week Sandy wants us to be creative regarding old photos and the nostalgia associated with it in a postcard format.
This made me think about postcards.

Thank you Sandy for the inspiration.

Even if you receive the postcard do you have time to scroll?

How times are changing!

Are postcards Obsolete?

I don’t think so.

Still, I find many shops around the famous location, in every country selling the postcards with famous /popular landmarks.

My guess is a postcard at any given time is a better souvenir compared to magnets, ceramic boxes, key chains or T-shirts.

Hanging our memories on the wall gives one the greatest satisfaction whenever you have a look at it.

My feeling is at least photographers can continue this good old habit and keep it alive.

Nostalgia

Thanks to Sandy for this challenge, we are sure to enter the world of HAPPY NOSTALGIA

In this challenge Sandy wants us to take a photo and re-imagine it as a postcard. With additional text, messages or graphics, re-create your photo into a POSTCARD FROM THE PAST

“These are the only cards that are wonderlust. Goes everywhere without a price to pay, never to return”  Punny Leone

“Wherever you travel to, I would love to receive a beautiful postcard.”  Lailah Gifty Akita

“The pessimist sees only the tunnel; the optimist sees the light at the end of the tunnel; the realist sees the tunnel and the light – and the next tunnel” Sydney J Harris

untitled (3 of 3)

“The world is a book. And those who don’t travel read only one page”   St.Augustine

How about the idea of mailing a postcard to home yourself whenever you are traveling?

Why don’t you write about your experience and your feelings at that particular moment and record it?

The idea is that your memory is still fresh and you are able to express your feelings better.

Do you still keep the habit of collecting/making  the postcards?

Please share your thoughts.

Thank you.

Lens Artists Photo Challenge #119 – My Hideaway

We all need some change.

We are all sick of Corona restrictions and we are careful and cautious at the same time.

Whenever restrictions are relaxed make best of your time.

“Because in the end you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn, climb that Goddamn mountain” Jack Kerouac

In India we have many hideaways but most popular are hill stations and beach.

Nothing like sitting in front of a lake and forgetting oneself as one embraces the Mother nature.

Life is a Beach

Beaches have a special role in our lives.

Those who are away from seashores are less fortunate because they are missing something in their lives.
