Patterns

What is pattern?

A pattern is an arrangement of lines or shapes, especially a design, in which the same shape is repeated at regular intervals over the surface- Collins dictionary

Man-made ‘Pattern’

“Cutting down a tree is like cutting down your own supply of oxygen” Unknown

If you notice the above image, it’s a cut portion of a tree trunk.

The pattern on the cut portion shows so many vertical lines apart from the trunk’s original circular bands.

The vertical pattern is due to sawing.

It’s unfortunate that the trunk was pruned, on enquiry I understand that this particular trunk was infested with fungus and needed immediate attention, as it can fall any time.

God made ‘pattern’

“God is the creator of incredible beauty and all that He envisioned and desired to create, He also desired to share” Michelle Carbotte

This begs answer for a question.

Can we be original?

I doubt.

Anything and everything we imitate Mother Nature.

Let us not claim that we have originality.

Take care my friend.

What is the opposite of Love?

I know, you are jumping the gun.

You are about to say ‘hatred’

I know you very well my friend.

Going wide

web-1

“When you reach for the stars, you are reaching for the farthest thing out there. When you reach deep into yourself, it is the same thing, but in the opposite direction. If you reach in both directions, you will have spanned the universe.”
Vera Nazarian

The above image is taken with an 8 mm fisheye lens.

It covered the entire floor and the roof and side arches of the Church, not possible with a general wide angle lens (above 14 mm)

The image below is a panoramic view. Taken in full circle (I guess 360º)

Photography is a lovely subject and I wish people use it more often, not the type we take with cell phones, but with regular cameras either DSLR or Mirrorless ones, where one can have more control and be creative.

A word of caution

True photography is a costly affair and please do not land into ‘G A S’ – Gear Acquisition Syndrome’ and I was a victim, learnt the lesson a bit late.

Why don’t you take part in various photo challenges in WP, if you are into photography?

Yes, my friend, it’s one way of relaxing and at the same time keeps one engaged. Of course one must have sufficient time and genuinely interested in photography.

This post is part of Pattimoed’s LAPC # 165 –GOING WIDE photo challenge.

The challenge is hosted by 4 wonderful people who keep us busy and innovative with their fantastic photo challenges.

For future challenges follow one or all of these four moderators

Week 1 – Patti

Week 2 – Ann-Christine

Week 3 – Amy

Week 4 – Tina

And my post is incomplete if I don’t mention Cee Neuner whose Cee’s Photo challenges- And teaching the art of composition for photography makes us realise the potential in photography. We are immensely benefited from her teachings.

She is a visionary and you can check her interview with Marsha, a versatile blogger here  (Why Cee Neuner Has Successfully Hosted Photo Challenges for Twelve Years)

Cee Neuner helping most of the photographers with her regular challenge series giving us all the encouragement and inspiration.

We are grateful to all.

We are also thankful to many photography bloggers who are running successful photo challenges.

It’s been a pleasure and a wonderful experience being a part of the team.

And thanks to WP, without its presence I would not have dreamed to be a blogger.

Thank you for visiting my site.

Take care, my friend.

Roses fall, but the thorns remain-Dutch Proverb

I request readers to help me in understanding the meaning of the above Dutch Proverb

Rose is a Rose

“The rose is a rose from the time it is a seed to the time it dies. Within it, at all times, it contains its whole potential. It seems to be constantly in the process of change: Yet at each state, at each moment, it is perfectly all right as it is”

Paulo Coelho

Wednesday Wisdom

Everybody says that life offers us many choices and even opportunities

But who guides us to take the proper decision regarding the choices available?

This is a million-dollar question.

Sages go even one step further and declare that your life is a result of the choices you make.

“Choices are abundant, it is the right decision which is the rare one!”
Mehmet Murat ildan

The blame game goes to…

“Blame is a beautiful thing, baby. Blame keeps this whole planet spinning. You can point your finger at the next man, you can shift the weight onto him, you don’t have to carry that shit around yourself. You can slide into bed and get a good night’s nap. Yeah, right.

Narrator-Augustus Hill ( played by Harold Perrineau) from Oz tv series

Irrespective of whether you make choice or not, you are ready to blame others for all the misfortune that is befalling you.

You blame the time, you say that it’s a wrong choice on the wrong occasion on a wrong day.

If you happened to be an emotional person, hell descends on you!

My friend, don’t get disheartened

As Mehmet Murat ildan says in the above quote…making the right decision is a rare one.

You are not alone.

Most of us make wrong choices by taking wrong decisions. It’s the part of life and the way of life.

It is the only way you can learn from mistakes.

Of course, mistakes can be sometimes costly!

Let us not blame others for everything. Remember you made the choice and be bold enough to accept the outcome of your choice.

Depend on your gut feeling.

And God provides you yet another opportunity to pick up one of the other choices available.

But you must have patience

Do you know what patience is?

“Patience is the art of hoping” Luc de Clapiers

Patience for one day, one month, one year or years together, ultimately you get what is best for you.

Are you aware of the three’ C’ of life?

They are the triplets whom we should never forget.

  1. Choices
  2. Chances
  3. Changes

Let us try to analyse further.

Choices

My topic started with the ‘Choices’ we make.

Choices determine how far you can go.

“Choose your love. Love your choice.” Thomas S. Monson

My friend, all of us start the day by making certain decisions and irrespective of whether the decision you made is going to be good or bad is not in your hands, but some outcome happens. Now is the time for you to choose from this outcome.

Now you are in a better position to make the choice that can take you near to your goals.

This is the choice I am talking about all the time.

“There comes a time in your life when you have to choose to turn the page, write another book or simply close it” Shannon L. Alder

Chances

Here one has to use wisely the choice selected.

My friend, the greatest risk you should avoid all the time is the risk of doing nothing.

And here is the point. Don’t depend on others to guide your destiny.

When life is generous enough to offer you choices, don’t hesitate to take a chance.

“In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take, relationships we were afraid to have, and the decisions we waited too long to make” Unknown

Changes

My friend, change is the way of life, all of us know this truth.

Never resist change once you decided about your choice and have taken a chance (irrespective of the outcome).

Be ready to welcome the change.

Remember Wu-Wei. Just flow with your life that happens once you have decided the ‘choice’ and the ‘chance’ you would love to take.

“Just when I think I have learned the way to live, life changes” Hugh Prather

Message

“The 3 C’s of Life: Choices, Chances, Changes. You must make a choice to take a chance or your life will never change.” Zig Zigla

Please share your thoughts.

Thank you for visiting my site.

Take care my friend.

Lollygag

“Who needs fiesta when you can have siesta” unknown

What is the meaning of Lollygag?

Lollygag means to spend time idly or aimlessly.

Who does not love to be lazy?

Oh! those days of early childhood

Laughing all the time for no reason!

No tension.

No need to remember the day.

No heartaches.

No job.

No worries.

No responsibilities.

Somebody pays for all the expenses and fun!

Everything is free!

Every need is taken care of!

Just get up late in the morning and that’s it. The whole day is yours!

How I wish I get back those childhood days!

Was life kind to you during your childhood my friend?

My childhood life was mixed with both unhappiness and happiness.

But I miss it a lot when I look back.

Irony of Life

The majority of the Adults miss childhood though as kids they wanted to grow as quickly as possible.

Some have memorable childhood and others have nightmarish childhood.

That is the way of life.

Nothing can be done.

Take care, my friend.
