This 4 yr kid was admiring the movements on the road, while her mother was busy purchasing the daily groceries.
Nothing great in this photo, except the colourful crispy chip packets and those colourful crates with beverages next to the shop.
Once I finished this snap, the kid heard the sound of the camera clicking and turned her head towards me.
I captured the very next moment.
Do you see anything different?
Of course you know that child is looking at the camera.
Anything else?
OK.
I tell you.
The moment the child realised that I was photographing the shop and its customers (Street photography), I felt child was feeling shy.
In that split second, a shift in the child’s behaviour was noticed. Perhaps it was shyness, uncertainty, or an eagerness to convey something profound.
What does the photograph reveal?
Whatever the reason, the child’s tiny hand instinctively reached for the security of her mother’s saree (sari or saree is a woman’s garment in the Indian subcontinent), grasping it tightly.
It was a silent message, an unspoken connection—a reassurance of trust and comfort.
The child found solace in the simple act of holding her mother’s saree tightly, revealing a deep sense of security amidst a sea of movements and uncertainty.
My thoughts
In this seemingly unremarkable scene, we learn an astounding truth: a kid experiences a sense of security unmatched by language when they clutch tightly to their mother’s saree, evoking a TIE that knows no boundaries.
Message
I learned from my brief experience that safety is not always found in large gestures or extraordinary circumstances.
It can arise from the simplest acts—an outstretched hand, a comforting touch, or a familiar presence or a warm hug.
“With my mother’s reassuring presence, I feel a sense of security that allows me to explore the world with confidence.” Unknown
What about you as a kid?
Do you remember any such moments?
Thank you for your visit.
Take care, my friend.
Namaste 🙏🙏🙏

Mothers are unquestionably amazing. I also preferred to be near my mother as a child since I needed to feel safe.
Thanks for sharing! 😊
