Can you name this bird?
Any idea of the name of the bird in this bird water whistle?
I am not sure, it can be northern cardinals or cedar waxwing, the one thing prominent that I notice is its head having a crest behind it.
Title of this post
Coming to the title, clean as a whistle is an idiom used in English, indicating that things are clean and dirt free. Simply this implies total cleanliness or spotless.
And that is the fun part of the English language.
“When people say “clean as a whistle”, they forget that a whistle is full of spit.”
George Carlin
OK. What is whistling?
Whistling is the process of forcing air through a small aperture produced with the lips to produce a musical note. The sound can be produced by breathing or exhaling, and the pitch and tone can be changed by varying the lip and tongue shapes.

- Whistling has been utilised for many different things throughout history, from signalling in the military to communication in hunting and gathering tribes
- It is also a common way to express oneself musically, with whistling being a distinguishing element in many tunes

Can you whistle?
Some said whistling is an art and all can’t be whistlers.
I am proud to say that I can whistle which I learnt during my childhood.
Message
“If the pressure is getting to you, whistle. In a barely audible way.
It’s the best way I know of to let go of tension. Music gets your mind off the situation, and the act of whistling melts the tension out of your body.”
Fuzzy Zoeller
