You begin to wonder how it is generated whenever you see this linear clouds in the sky that become visible after the passing of a jet plane.

The scientific explanation

When cold air at high altitudes mixes with heated exhaust fumes from aircraft engines, water vapour condenses and freezes into small ice crystals, creating contrails.

Following the aeroplane, the ice crystals linger in the atmosphere and form a long, thin cloud.

Contrails form and remain depending on many variables including altitude, temperature, humidity, and air pressure.
