New experiences- Himalaya

On my way to a Himalayan town (Dalhousie)

I just wanted to experience fresh snowfall and the weather bulletin told me that January 2nd half is the best month to take a chance.

I am sixteen going on seventeen (sweet sixteen)

I-am-sixteen-going-on-seventeen

Indigo airlines, one of our national carriers, celebrated the completion of 16 fulfilling years and I was greeted with this ‘I am sixteen going on seventeen’ and this instantly brought cheers and also my youthful energy readying for the trip.

“You are never too old to become younger!”

Snowfall (light)

God wished that I should experience Snowfall and this is how I enjoyed my first experience of ‘falling snow’.

Paragliding (Exhilarating experience)

“Every moment you are paragliding is the best moment of your life” Unknown

The most thrilling experience!

The flight lasted for 15 minutes (6000 to 7000 feet).

I had a stunning view of the Himalayan range.

The feeling is just amazing!

And you realize what it means freedom of flight!

“The air is the only place where there are no boundaries, no limitations, no restrictions. It is the ultimate experience of freedom.”  Leonardo da Vinci

I enjoyed the beauty and colourful landscape.

Thank you for your visit.

Take care, my friend.

  1. Two wonderful new experiences Philo! I remember experiencing falling snow for the first time in NYC. It was great until the realization of what happens to snow in the city. It turns to slush and ice. Walking to school was difficult. When I was staying in Reno with my grandkids, I experienced a wonderful snow storm. It didn’t turn to slush and ice. Moral: all good things come to those who wait!!

  2. I always love being present with someone who has never experienced snow before. The reactions are always so different. snow cones, ice cream, soft, light and quiet. I am glad you were able to experience it first had and your photos are beautiful.

Paragliding? I don’t think I will ever have that at a new experience, by choice. lol. But I can imagine the freedom you might feel. A nice post. Happy Friday.

    1. Well said Donna.
And it’s so fun to watch the reaction and facial expression of the person who never witnessed falling snow
      .
I was not sure about watching falling snow but I was told that we can see snow on either side of the road, on the building roofs and also on pine trees. (Something better than nothing).
But watching falling snow in real time..a fantastic experience altogether.

True. Paragliding is for adventure junkies. And lots of excitement to watch the ground from such a height with the cold breeze kissing our face.

      Thank you so much.
