I am not aware of how commonly green chilli is used in your county. I understand that Westerners love bland food

But in India?

Chillies add spice to Indian food

Chillies are used with or without stalks, whole or chopped, with seeds are without seeds.

There is no Garam masala without green chilli. Here green chilli is blended with garlic and ginger.

Green chilli is never used in excess but just a touch of it is enough to make the dish spicy.

There is never a scarcity of green chillies since it’s grown throughout the year.

What does chilli taste like?

Chilli contains various degrees of an active element called Capsaicin.

It’s a chemical irritant and produces a burning sensation in the mouth when you taste it.

The taste is pungent meaning ‘spicy heat’, and can burn your tongue if you are careless.

  • Rich source of beta-carotene (good for the heart), endorphins and antioxidants.
  • Good for skin (has vitamin E & vitamin C)
  • Zero calories

Humans are always astonishing, intriguing, and crazy on many occasions.

I think these kinds of contests are risky and life-threatening, but who is listening?

Many times I cry because people indulge in these games only to lose their lives.

  1. Great photo and info. I do not like bland food, but I always say I don’t want it so “spicy hot” that I’m scrambling for something to take the heat away. I can handle a bit of a kick, but I want to be able to enjoy it.
