Tina Schell, the hostess of the Lens-Artists photo challenge wants the participants to address the ways we’ve learned to Find Peace in today’s ever-more busy world.
Thank you Tina S, We appreciate you for bringing up this important subject.
Purpose of finding peace
Finding peace of mind is a common goal for many people who want to live a more fulfilling and serene life.
Before proceeding further let me know whether you wish to have outer peace(external) or inner (internal peace) or both.
Outer peace
Outer peace (external peace) is a broad term and depends on many factors and you have zero control over them.
External peace is difficult to achieve because of the noise surrounding you at every stage of your life.
Your peace depends on society and nations.
Your peace is influenced by politics, governance, economics, culture, religion your environment including your neighbourhood. It’s achieved with happy co-existence with people.
You don’t get external peace because you are not flexible. You are in a fighting spirit for everything and anything.
The best way to achieve this is the ‘let go philosophy’.
Inner peace
Wikipedia refers to Inner peace (or peace of mind) as a deliberate state of psychological or spiritual calm despite the potential presence of stressors.
Inner peace is a state of being free from disturbances such as sadness, anger or fear.
You must be cautious about your thoughts, emotions or beliefs which can influence your inner peace.
In inner peace, one is at peace with oneself.
Types of Inner peace
There are two types of achieving inner peace. Both are under your total control.
1. EUDAIMONIC HAPPINESS 2. HEDONIC HAPPINESS.
Hedonic happiness is easy to achieve than eudaimonic happiness.
In eudaimonic happiness, you are searching for purpose and meaning in your life. It’s a deep sense of tranquillity that makes individuals connect their inner selves and find meaning and purpose. in their lives. You must be fully present at the moment. There is no regret about the past or worry about the future. You are totally content with your present life.
You give importance to values and virtues.
Just contrast with Hedonic happiness.
Here your happiness is based on experiencing pleasures and enjoyment.
This is highly subjective and I can give some examples. Visiting places, listening to your favourite songs, reaching out to your friends and relatives, showing gratitude, doing regular exercises, meditation, forgiving yourself, having alone time and many more.
So when we are discussing how to find peace-we are referring to Hedonic happiness!!
What is my experience?
Finding External peace– For me it’s just not possible. So what do I do? I just go with the flow. This is my saner advice.
Finding internal peace–
Eudaimonic happiness-I am unable to achieve, and I am frank, this though they say it is under our control.
Hedonic happiness-Yes. This is what I do and I am happy and relieved.
How do I find peace?
My type consists of interacting with Mother nature.
Golden hour, you make me feel alive!🌄
My peace is at maximum when I watch a golden hour either in the morning or evening.
Golden hour is my happy hour.
“Every morning I wake up with an unknown, unexceptionable joy of life. Then I get lost in the beauty of the morning Sun and all the magnificence that surrounds me”
Debashis Mridha
The sound and smell of the sea cleanse my soul🌊
I forget myself while listening to the sound of waves.
The sound of waves crashing is therapeutic to me and ironically this sound calms my mind.
I am fortunate that I have a beach nearby.
“When the wild wave meets the calm beach when anger reaches tranquillity, anger disappears, serenity triumphs, and the wave experiences enlightenment!”
Mehmet Murat ildan
Peace begins at the water’s edge🏞️
“Looking out over the lake, I felt enveloped in the most peaceful, loving utopia.”
Laurie Kahn
I love strolling along the lake.
I just can’t explain the reason for my happiness and peace.
There is an improvement in my mood and self-esteem.
Maybe nature’s beauty and fresh air are the reasons?
Thank you for your visit.
Take care, my friend.

It seems we agree on the things that bring us peace, and I loved the descriptions of the various kinds of peace. I’d not seen them explained so well. Your images support your ideas perfectly.

Is it possible for anyone to achieve eudaimonic happiness?
