Some interesting facts you did not know about hand

  • An x-ray of hand bones can reveal the approximate age of a person (helpful in forensic and criminal investigations)
  • The inventor of the x-ray Wilhelm Roentgen carried out the first ever x-ray which was of the hand of his wife
  • Hand also contain tiny bones (sesamoid bones) formed from the connective tissues
  • One of the wrist bones resembles the crescent shape of the moon, hence named the lunate bone
  • The hands and feet together contain half of the bones found in the entire body
  • You can not get tan on your palm
  • Fingers don’t have muscles
  • Fringer prints are unique, no two human beings in the world have similar fingerprints
  • What sets our hands apart from the animals is that our thumbs and fingers can work together

  1. It’s funny you posted this, I just posted something about hands. I have had repeated infections in my hands because I am drug addict who is in recovery, and due to OCD obsess over them. Which I was doing before seeing your post.

    Your post was very helpful, giving me great peace. Thank you, it served as a reflection on the fact that my hands don’t have infections because I stopped using, and letting me realize I am merely manifesting guilt on them.
