Shadows
All of us, humans have shadows within us. This is the part we try to hide from others and even from ourselves.
Only the shade of shadow differs from being a simple shadow to a dark side of the soul as good as holding deep dark secrets. Either you can own it or deny it. It’s up to you.
Strangely the same shadows can help you and brighten up your life, once you recognize the negative aspects.
“It’s part of what we call the Shadow, all the dark parts of us we can’t face. It’s the thing that, if we don’t deal with it, eventually poisons our lives”
Michael Gruber
“In faith, there is enough light for those who want to believe and enough shadows to blind those who don’t.” Blaise Pascal
Reflections
“There is one art of which people should be masters – the art of reflection”
Samuel Taylor Coleridge
“This is rather as if you imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking,
‘This is an interesting world I find myself in — an interesting hole I find myself in — fits me rather neatly, doesn’t it? In fact, it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!’
This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, frantically hanging on to the notion that everything’s going to be alright because this world was meant to have him in it, was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise.
I think this may be something we need to be on the watch out for”
Thank you for your visit.
Take care, my friend.

Oh Philo, I don’t know which I like better, your narrative or photos. Your quotes hit my soul. They are very much like Jewish Musar and your images are great!

Thank you Anne Sandler.
You made me understand things about Jewish Musar, the term I never knew.
I googled and learnt many things about Musar.
Musar helps one to develop wisdom and thus one is transformed to lead a better and contented life by following the code of conduct.
I gained extra knowledge thanks to Anne Sandler.

Great insight in the quotes you share, Philo, especially Adams. And the puddle photo you picked to emphasis it was spot on. Always inspired…

In faith, it is better to light just one little candle to reflect on the shadows. The puddle has so much to see.
