Don’t give your attention to these 10 unworthy habits!

1. Affairs

It is unworthy more so if you are married. you may or may not agree.

It’s a marriage killer. And affairs take you nowhere. It simply causes pain and Heartbreak.

Cheating can never be justified. Why? Because it is the worst thing you can do to your better half. And be prepared to face various consequences which I am not detailing here.

Two things I can stress

1.The fate of your family and children(Do they deserve this ?) and

2. the social shame. (since you can not keep it secret forever).

Solution-If you are not happy with your marriage, be frank and sort it out.

2. Social media (In general)

A majority agree with me that it’s a waste of time.

If you still want to reach out, don’t spend more than 10-15 minutes. Social media is not social anymore and you get heavily trolled losing your peace of mind. You start comparing yourself to others.

You get depressed.No doubt social media makes you feel good with those shares, likes and follows! Realize at the end what you are going to achieve.

More enemies, more jealousy…

What about social networking? You will be inviting more heartburn.

And remember social media platforms are built on an algorithm and you may be tempted to spend on ads. Just tell me what you want to achieve other than some silly entertainment, which you can get otherwise?

My guess is social media is only good for serious business promotion. I may be wrong.

Solution-Less time spent on social media….better your quality of life.

3. Porn

You may or may not agree. It’s not going to help you.

The majority are not aware of the psychological effects it can have on the brain. Watching porn is nothing but cheating yourself and your better half (if you are married).

You all know that porn is unrealistic. Young minds are polluted. The important causality is the relationship.

Research by psychologists, scientists and therapists warn about the harmful effects it can have on relationships.

Solution-Remember you got other better things to do in life.

4. Worry

Many times you feel your life is stuck since problems are never-ending.

We worry because of past decisions( depression) and continue to worry because of the uncertain future( anxiety), in the process, we forget that life is too short to worry.

Remember worry and life go together. The best thing is to focus on the present and deal with what immediately concerns you.

By worrying, you are only wasting the best part of your life. It is said 85% of what we worry about never happens. Do you worry about how to stop worrying?

Solution-Deal one problem at a time.

5. Gossip

Again a waste of valuable life’s time.

Remember Newton’s law.

‘Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. You are hurt when rumours backfire on you. Gossip

Solution- never whisper. Change the topic if you think the other person is gossiping.

6. Overthinking

It causes anxiety. Anxiety reduces your power of concentration and brings out your negative emotions.

Overthinking complicates your life and makes you lose opportunities. you fail to enjoy the moment.

Solution-write down your thoughts as to why you are overthinking and make attempts to solve the issues one by one.

7. Living your life for others

We always worry about what others think of us since as humans it’s natural that we wish to be liked accepted and admired and in the process, we don’t hesitate to follow what others suggest ‘is best’ for us.

we tune our minds such that we don’t mind living up to the standards set by others forgetting that what is best for others may not suit you.

8. Overreacting

It’s nothing but a response to a situation, which is more than justified. Remember you are only producing harmful chemical reactions in the body.

Solution-Don’t panic when you are angry or upset. Life is not going to end!

9. TV News / Politics / Religion

News may be good for entertainment and keeping abreast of the happenings in the World.

But just think for a moment, whether the accumulated knowledge is helping you for your day-to-day survival.

It is said that 24 hrs news channel has become a media circus with nil-quality content and biased opinions.

Breaking news breaks every second and you are confused as to which is important and which is silly.

As a consumer, you are the judge. As per Nat Eliason, the news is a waste of time, unless you are in the military or politics, News-waste of time.

Politics, once you elect the representative, you are done till the next election. You worry not about anything. Let the politicians take care of the country etc. Don’t die fighting because of politics.

ReligionEach religion is unique. Believe in what you want to believe and let others do the same.

SolutionSpend your time usefully. A. Just listen to the headlines, if you are particular. B. Leave politics to politicians. C. Limit discussions about religion to yourself and like-minded people.

10. Regretting about your past

Stop beating yourself. The past is over. you are wasting more of your available precious time by recollecting past decisions.

Solution– Forget & forgive yourself or others and move on.
