Neither worry nor expect a thing in your life
“Life always gives us exactly the teacher we need at every moment.
This includes every mosquito, every misfortune, every red light, every traffic jam, every obnoxious supervisor (or employee), every illness, every loss, every moment of joy or depression, every addiction, every piece of garbage, and every breath.
Every moment is the guru”

Wonderful quote.
The word “expecting” is a euphemism for being pregnant. “Stop expecting” means “stop being pregnant.” What you want to say is “No expectations.”
I hope you don’t mind this little correction, dear Philo.

Dare not argue with the English professor.
I humbly submit that I stand corrected.
Thank you, Dolly!

I think, in the UK, we’d use the verb “to expect” in this context. Yes, it can be used to mean being pregnant, but I believe it’s widely used in the UK to simply mean to expect the worst … sorry to disagree Dolly. I would say, however, that we’d tend to follow it up with something … what are you expecting?

I can understand the way we use this word to convey different meanings depending on the situation.
Many times people whose mother tongue is not English easily get confused and may use it inappropriately.
Thank you Brenda for expanding my scope of understanding the word better.
