“When we look at nature, we see ourselves” Elliot Connor
Sadly, we don’t have much to see ourselves because there is no wildlife in my city.
The only place available is to have a glimpse into the zoo.

Wow Philo, your challenge response gives us a lot to ponder. The way we encroach on and take their habitats is inhumane. Then when they are near extinction our zoos try to build up their numbers again. You’ve given us a lot to think about.

Thank you so much Anne Sandler.
Could not agree more.
Yes. Zoo is the place where human behavior towards these innocent animals can tell what future is going to hold for these animals.

Having seen elephants in the wild Philo, it is heartbreaking to see them in chains. We’ve made progress yet we still have so very far to go. Thanks for the thoughtful response.

A moving post, Philo. I can equate some of your thoughts to the snakes nearby. I don’t like snakes, never have, never will. But I do know they are beneficial, and also a living thing. I get tired of so many just taking shovels to them. Just because. Luckily we have found people who can relocate the ones we find.
And hallelujah. I am happy to know your mother’s head is NOT on your wall. Great and unique interpretation to the challenge with a STRONG message.

Poor elephant: you’ve captured its dejected expression. I hate Zoo’s because I can’t stand animals in captivity.

Thank you Dolly.
A few said that luckily Zoo is the last sanctuary for the survival of the animal kingdom.
I wish and prey Zoo keepers take care well.

You are very welcome, dear friend.
Perhaps, some Zoo’s are sanctuaries, in which case it is justified. I have not seen those.

Thank you Dolly. Zoos becoming a sanctuary a rare event, but we do come across them because there are people who are in a position to help these animals.
