“One mustn’t ask apple trees for oranges, France for sun, women for love, life for happiness”
Gustave Flaubert
Not asking the apple tree for oranges, I can understand.
Not asking France for Sun…to some extent I agree.
Not asking a woman for Love…hmm…do you agree?
Finally, no mature person can ask ‘life’ for happiness.
Thank you for your visit.
Take care, my friend.

Stunning photo – great shapes and colors!
As to the quote, Gustav Flober thought that he understood women’s psyche to the point that, having authored the famous “Madame Bovary,” he remarked, “Emma (Bovary) is I.”

For me it happens frequently.
If I type Brenda it becomes Brinda.
Brinda is a Hindu name while Brenda is a Christian name to my understanding.

One can’t definitively ask somebody for love. It’s an instinctive feel. That emotion is supposed to peek on its own. So fellow humans would be more appropriate than women in my perspective.

well said Ar. Jenita.
How true it is!
Agree.
‘Fellow human’ is the appropriate term.
Thank you.
