Tree Trunk Texture

Am I depressed when I see the younger generation?

Not at all.

Why should I, my friend?

“Every laugh line, every scar, is a badge I wear to show I’ve been present, the inner rings of my personal tree trunk that I display proudly for all to see.

Nowadays, I don’t want a “perfect” face and body;

I want to wear the life I’ve lived”

Pat Benatar

This is what I am.

Why do some senior citizens compete with the younger generation?

Everyone wants to look and feel younger.

Nothing wrong is competing with the younger generation as long as seniors are energetic both physically and mentally.

They can be an inspiration too!

But I am talking about the older adults trying to compete with youths to look a decade younger by appearance.

Is there anything wrong with this?

A few old adults & youngsters readily raise their eyebrows as if they are witnessing horror if they see any senior making an effort to look younger with makeup etc.

I feel there should not be any shame in wanting to look younger.

Their body belongs to them.

They are free to do what they wish to do, how they wish to do and how much younger they would like to appear.

What about the euphemism of Aging Gracefully?

This is referring to what? Age? or Appearance?

I guess this euphemism is created unnecessarily.

Is not one of the definitions of Graceful-being attractive and elegant?

Elegant & attractive in one’s own way.

If you don’t like this, the least you can do is to keep quiet or ignore the same.

Why should anybody pass judgment or give opinions or make fun?

“You all can judge my body all you want, but at the end of the day, it’s MY body. I love it and I’m comfortable in my own skin”

Simone Biles

Message

“We are all hypocrites. We cannot see ourselves or judge ourselves the way we see and judge others.”
José Emilio Pacheco

What are your thoughts on ageing gracefully, my friend?

Thank you for your visit.

Take care, my friend.

Namaste 🙏🙏🙏
