SMOKING
“A Havana Cigar is to the art of smoking what a great wine is to the art of drinking”.
Alan Senderens
Do you smoke, my friend?
If so how many cigarettes per day?
Any particular brand you like?
Did at any time you stopped smoking yet could not resist the temptation?
I stopped smoking right from childhood
The reason may be that I hate the smell.
A few said they enjoy the fragrance when a neighbour is smoking.
I used to wonder why they get into a mood when they smell the cigarettes smoke, though they are not smoking themselves.
Can this be a psychiatric problem? (one of my childhood friends used to stand nearby the petrol bunk, telling us that he enjoys the fragrance emanating from the nozzle of the hose) The ingredient benzene is said to have an intoxicating smell and is dangerous to health.
These people seem to be addicted to the smell!
We all know the health-related issues including cancer resulting from smoking.
Yet it’s hard to resist!

Smoking has its known health challenges but still it has a lot of users. I often wonder how one can get addicted to cigarettes but then again, its the high it gives

Thank you my friend
The problem lies in us.
Humans can’t be alive if they have no vices.
Everybody talks of high morals strangely every body wears mask to hide their weakness.
Let us call spade a spade.
Somebody’s loss is somebody’s gain.

Dear Philo, both your photo and the quote are about cigars, yet you are writing about cigarettes. While smoking is undoubtedly harmful, cigars are not nearly as dangerous, as cigarettes, if smoked in moderation the way they should be smoked – without inhaling. Granted, we all know that Sigmund Freud had cancer of the jaw, but he smoked 20 cigars every day and inhaled. Yet he still lived to be 83 years old and died of assisted suicide.

Dear Dolly, I respectfully disagree with you on this subject.
The theme is about smoking. Not about cigars or cigarettes.
I purposefully selected Cigar smoking photo since cigar is said to be less dangerous (you too said this).
Danger is danger ..is it not so?
As a medical profession I don’t differentiate between less harmful vs more harmful.
Sigmund Freud lived so long despite having smoked billions of cigars can’t be an excuse to smoke cigars.
Thank you Dolly.

P.S. I suppose you didn’t know that my husband’s business is manufacturing cigars. I have to support him.
