“The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for”
What is that all the religions, teach us about LOVE?
As per Bob Morley’s Wisdom, everybody is going to hurt you.
I think he is correct because we expect too much from the ones, we love (a bit selfish attitude, I say) and in turn, feel hurt if they are not up to our expectations. (Again, a selfish motive)
Love is a beautiful thing, sadly many make it ugly because of lack of understanding of the true meaning of love.
Woody Allen has some explanation
“To love is to suffer.
To avoid suffering one must not love.
But then one suffers from not loving.
Therefore, to love is to suffer; not to love is to suffer; to suffer is to suffer.
To be happy is to love. To be happy, then, is to suffer, but suffering makes one unhappy.
Therefore, to be happy one must love or love to suffer or suffer from too much happiness”
Are you confused? Is too much happiness also suffering?
I know you don’t have an answer. Neither I have!
My thoughts
But my guess is…. don’t love too much or too little, and at the same time don’t expect
anything in return.
Don’t presume or assume.
Is this not strange that the very word ‘Love’ makes some of us experience ‘Heaven’ and some other ‘Hell’
How can love ❤ has dual power…. i.e., adorable & destructive?
What about this quote?
“He who loves the more is the inferior and must suffer” Thomas Mann
What is your take?

I believe “love hurts” is a misconception. Love doesn’t cause pain, but its absence is painful. The loss of love is heartbreaking. Thank you.

Thank you my friend for your thoughts.
Agree with you.
How to come out of this conception?
I guess one must love unconditionally.
And an impossible task for humans.
Is it not so my friend?
Just a thought.

Love is not happiness, but you can be happy in love, just as one can be happy single, so long as you love yourself first. Don’t give, share.
On unconditional love, that’s our loving capacity, we can love anytime, and as much as we desire, the well of love is always there for us. We can love without conditions. Thank you.

Bob Marley was a great musician but no great philosopher. I agree with you, dear Philo: we suffer because of our expectations. Therefore, learn not to expect, and you will not suffer.
