I am amazed at the age of European construction that has stood the test of time. Buildings built these days look pretty but most don’t have the foundation to last for centuries.

I doubt whether these buildings have a foundation at all!
Hawa Mahal in Jaipur, Rajasthan State in Western India was built in 1799, with a height of 15 m (49.2 f), said to be the tallest building in the world without a foundation. It’s a 5-story pyramidal-shaped monument and a tourist attraction.
