Happiness is…

Happiness smile

There are so many beautiful reasons to be happy.

Is it not so?

But people are never happy☺

I don’t know why it is so.

If you ask me- I am unhappy most of the time.

I try my level best to be happy come what may, but my subconscious mind is the best friend of an idiotic monkey.

Whether it’s a Saint or Sage or even a Seer…they have answers for all our problems.

Yet we’re unhappy.

A few said happiness depends on our mood, our age, our thoughts, our fears, our greediness, our requirements, our aim, our goal etc, etc.

What is your suggestion, my friend?

A few have come out with their thoughts.

  1. The secret of happiness is not in doing what one likes, but in liking what one does.

James M. Barrie

  1. Doing what you like is freedom. Liking what you do is happiness.

Frank Tyger

  1. There is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way.

Thich Nhat Nanh

  1. People are just as happy as they make up their minds to be.

Abraham Lincoln

  1. Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened, happiness never decreases by being shared.

Buddha

  1. The key to being happy is knowing you have the power to choose what to accept and what to let go

Dodinsky

  1. There is only one happiness in life, to love and to be loved.

George Sand

  1. Happiness is a choice, not a result. Nothing will make you happy until you choose to be happy

  1. Five rules of happiness
  1. Don’t Hate
  2. Don’t compare
  3. Don’t worry
  4. Don’t expect
  5. Don’t complain

Hmm…

Looks like there are billions of pieces of advice available and billions of choices are possible to be happy.

Yet happiness eludes all of us.

What is my favourite saying?

  • Think less. Listen more.
  • Talk less. Listen more.
  • Judge less. Accept more.
  • Watch less. Do more.
  • Complain less. Appreciate more.
  • Fear less. Love more.

I am yet to get total happiness.

I don’t know where I am going wrong!

 Thank you for your visit.

Take care, my friend.

Namaste 🙏🙏🙏

  1. Not all people are unhappy, dear Philo, and happiness does not elude all of us.
The feeling of being content, which we call happiness, depends on a group of chemicals called endorphins, generated by one’s brain. Even though some people’s brains do not generate enough endorphins, specifically one pheromone called serotonin, which makes them feel unhappy most of the time. However, with a proper diet, exercise, or appropriate medication (I am not a big fan of mood enhancing meds, but if all else fails, and the person is unable to function, then they might have to!) you can create natural surges of serotonin into your brain. As an example, 15 minutes of any physical activity will have a positive effect.

    1. Thank you Dolly for your detailed explanation.
I doubt… be doctors, psychologists, endocrinologists or even philosophers and saints could have given this much clear-cut explanation.
The solution lies in proper diet, and, exercises which unfortunately I am unable to stick.
I am serious in changing my life style.

  2. You know fundamentally how others find happiness yet you struggle finding your own. Why are you choosing to give so much airtime to thoughts that do not support or help you. Where is your focus? Internal or External? Focusing too much inside can feed the insecurities, worries and perceived failings. Every wrongdoing has given you a chance to learn something and has led you to this moment. The universe will sort the existential worries so you can better enjoy the moment and focus on thoughts that may better support you. You may not find happiness, but instead a level of contentment. If not, accept it, leave it or change it!
Hugs, PtP – you are wise and strong. You got this!

    1. Brilliant Amanda.
      You are right.
The focus appears to be more internal because of uncertainties of the future and some unhappiness lurking at one corner of the mind trying to influence the present mood.
No doubt I have to help myself.
      Love your statement.

      How true it is!
      I am becoming stronger now.
      Thank You so much, Amanda.
      Have a great Sunday.
