Put the ‘kind’ back in ‘mankind’-unknown

Do you know that world Rhino day is celebrated on 22nd September every year?
There are 5 species of rhinos.
- White Rhino
- Great one Horned Rhino
- Black Rhino
- Sumatran Rhino
- Javan Rhino
4 of the 5 species remaining are threatened with extinction.
This is happening because of poaching (fewer than 12,000 rhinos remain in the world)
There is a growing demand for rhino horns.
The main consumers are said to be from people in China and Vietnam, as a status symbol or for medicinal values which include treatment for impotence.
You name the disease, it can be cured by rhino horn preparations, a false narration popularised among the population.
There is no scientific evidence to prove that rhino horn has medicinal value.
Human greed has crossed the limits.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Killing animals for sport is not something that should be tolerated. It’s one thing when there is overpopulation, but this is clearly not the case. Thank you for sharing this very important topic for PPAC. 🙂

How is there a growing demand of rhino horns if we have modern medicine to treat so many maladies?

My friend the answer is simple.
Modern medicine can’t cure 100% psycological related diseases( impotence for example).
So they try other alternatives and belief system is the culprit.
The species are endangered only because of these crazy ‘ belief system’.

Sadly, it seems to me that we have crossed the threshold point already. I have no idea what to expect the next.
