“Civilians enjoy their time because soldiers sacrifice their time” Amit Kalantri

The above image is that of Kuala Lumpur Cenotaph, a memorial to the fallen of world war ǀ
Every country is proud of its war heroes.
The brave men and women of the military are always honoured for their sacrifices.
For these people, it’s a selfless act of valour.
“Cowards die many times before their deaths, the valiant never taste death but once” William Shakespeare
Can we stop wars happening in the world?
I have no answer.
Our helplessness starts right from our family wars. Is it not so?
First of all, why should there be wars?
Why should people try to suppress each other?
Again I am helpless in understanding the psychology of the people.
Abhijit Naskar has some advice.
“Civilized beings take responsibility for the conflicts of the world and actively work towards a future that needs no 24/7 military, rather than accepting the death of a soldier as the norm and celebrating it as a glorious occasion.”
Thank you for your visit.
Take care, my friend.

I just finished reading Irene Waters post and she chose almost the same topic. Freedom is not free. We are reminded of that every time we see public art representing the sacrifices made by soldiers around the world. It is frustrating/maddening that governments can drag young men into wars when the purpose is not clear especially. Take care and have a wonderful week. 🙂
