It means calm, peaceful or tranquil.

Serenity is a state of calmness or being in tranquillity.

One must be untroubled.

Serenity is nothing but an idyll of your soul!

Our lives move smoothly without any ups and downs.

How does one achieve serenity?

Each one of us is different and each one of us tries to find serenity by some means that can differ from person to person.

“The poor long for riches, the rich long for heaven, but the wise long for a state of tranquillity”  Swami Rama

I get my serene moments when I am with Mother Nature

Yes, my friend, I forget myself as if I am in deep meditation.

What about you?

“Watch any plant or animal and let it teach you acceptance of what is, surrender to the Now. Let it teach you Being. Let it teach you integrity — which means to be one, to be yourself, to be real. Let it teach you how to live and how to die, and how not to make living and dying into a problem” Eckhart Tolle

Can you expect serenity these days?

With COVID reborn as OMICRON, showing its fangs and economic activity at its lowest, so many loss of jobs, people struggling to survive, more restrictions, sealed borders and many busy knocking the Heaven doors, how can you expect Serenity?

You don’t have a shortage of Gurus, Pundits, Scholars, learned people who are ready to help you, somebody with their 10 points and a few others with rules of 20, and you are assured of inner peace either by free means or by payment methods.

Social media including you-tubers have become ever busy with advice and tips.

You are back to square one with more confusion!!

What is the answer?

My friend, smile and laughter are the answers.

“We are not going to change the whole world, but we can change ourselves and feel as free as birds. We can be serene even in the midst of calamities and, by our serenity, make others more tranquil. Serenity is contagious. If we smile at someone, he or she will smile back. And a smile costs nothing. We should plague everyone with joy. If we are to die in a minute, why not die happily, laughing?”
Sri S. Satchidananda

What are my thoughts?

  • Be alone and spend time with yourself for a few minutes.
  • Calm down your monkey mind.
  • Spend time with nature…as my photograph above depicts. You need not go to the Himalayas.
  • Life is not just about your family problems or imbalance of your work-family commitments. It’s much more than this. You do things that make you smile.
  • Be thankful for what you already have and many are denied even the minimum luxury you have at present.
  • Remember you have to win the battle in the mind.
