Secrets…secrets and more secrets!
Hello, lovely people there!
Always a pleasure to talk to you, get your feedback, thoughts and suggestions.
Today my topic is limited to secrets on interpersonal relationships. (family, friends, romantic partners)
I am not going into the details as to why one tries to keep secrets to oneself.
We all have secrets. (not necessarily the real dark secrets)
I guess it’s in human genes.
Accept it.
But sadly each one of us has something to hide and is not willing to reveal, so where is the question of accepting?
We the humans are complex creatures.
By keeping the secret a secret, you are imagining that your relationship and even reputation is properly protected.
Statistics
It’s said a person keeps around 13 secrets at a time.
Right now I have 1 secret😃😃😂😂 for immediate attention and 12 to deal with later.🤣🤣😜
Two types of secrets
You have two kinds of secrets, one you are willing to reveal and the other you never divulge and bury along with you.
In case you thought of revealing the secret you are burdened as to whether you are revealing the secret to the right person.
If somebody tells you a secret what are your feelings?
I have 4 thoughts.
- You are elated that you have achieved great power and can control the events happening in that particular person’s life, who revealed the secret. (a kind of blackmailing)
- You feel burdened because you have to guard it.
- You are happy that somebody is frank enough to reveal the secret and the matters can be put to rest and better understanding between the persons can happen.
- You are repulsed (in personal relationships) and start hating that may lead to a permanent break up of relationships.
If you keep a secret what can happen?
My friend, it all depends on how thick your skin is.
But I can assure you that you are constantly harassed by the feeling of guilt.
It is said that one is subjected to anxiety, tension and even exhaustion.
Whatever may be the circumstances, keeping the secret is never pleasant to you.
“Lies and secrets, they are like cancer in the soul. They eat away what is good and leave only destruction behind” Cassandra Clare
Is this true?
“Women can keep secrets. But they can’t be silent about the fact that they keep a secret” Somerset Maugham
Do you forgive if someone reveals their secret?
Yes, my friend.
You not only forgive but also must forget.
“Forgiveness is the best form of love. It takes a strong person to say a sorry, an even stronger person to forgive” Unknown
What is the best advice?
“It’s a wonderful thing to be able to open up and be honest about yourself-your likes and dislikes, problems, needs, worries and even your mistakes-because openness and honesty are the building blocks that sound relationships are made of” Aurora productions
Summary
“If you want to keep a secret, you must also hide it from yourself” George Orwell
Thank you for your visit.
Take care, my friend.

Sometimes a secret someone tells you is a burden indeed. I ask myself “why is this person telling me this?”

Exactly Dorothy.
Why the person is preferring one to tell the secret?
Thank you so much for your thoughts.

Some secrets are offered as confessions but should not be told to me but rather uttered in Confession where more meaningful absolution can be given.

Couldn’t Agree more my friend.
True.
The confession must be from the bottom of the heart and should be made at the right place for absolution where things are forgiven without any motives
