I have never come across the word ‘Akimbo’ till now.
Thanks to WP in general and Ragtag Daily Prompt in particular, I am learning something new regularly.
Thank you Brian of Bushboys Fame
What is Akimbo?

It describes a particular position of the body rather sort of body language.
In this position, the hands are positioned on the hips and both elbows are bent outwards with arms.
This is a posture that communicates
- Defiance
- Confidence
- Aggressiveness or
- Arrogance
(Merriam Webster)
I am not sure what the above person intends to send the message to others.
As per the definition of Akimbo- this person in the above image- is supposed to convey defiance, confidence, aggressiveness or arrogance.
Do you think he is conveying any one of these expressions?
What are your thoughts?
I felt he is conveying nothing of those described in Akimbo, rather sad or confused as opposed to our definition.
And so much is about the study of body language by the experts.
Here the definition suits the body posture of the person but not the expression or body language supposed to convey.
Feel free to share your thoughts.
The above image is from my mobile. Apologies for the resolution.
Thank you for visiting my site.
Take care, my friend.

I think it’s probably like crossing your arms in front of your chest—people often do it because it’s comfortable, but it can convey a certain message unintentionally.

Thank you Ashley.
Agree.
We should not read too much into the body language.
My feeling is body gesture is nothing but how comfortable one is.
But ‘body language’ specialists won’t agree.
