National Almond Day
Do you know that National Almond day is celebrated on February 16 annually?
Almonds are said to be the most heart-healthy nut.
They are rich in protein, fat, Vitamin E, fibre, magnesium, manganese and are said to lower cholesterol.
Almond is eaten directly or by adding to milk, pasta or butter.
As per the Dietary Guidelines for Americans advised to remember 1-2-3, 1 ounce of almonds (28gms), or about 23 almond nuts, as the daily ideal consumption of Almonds.
One particular downside of eating almonds daily and in large quantities is weight gain.
If you are on medication you must be careful about regular eating since it contains high manganese.
Let us thank the bees first, without their help almonds can’t be produced.
So never kill the bees.
Secondly, let us be grateful to farmers who yield these nutritional nuts.
