Does photography reflect the truth?

“People see what they want to see and what people want to see never has anything to do with the truth” Roberto Bolano

We all know that photography is a powerful medium of expression, and a better way of communication.

A picture is said to be worth a thousand words.

Is not the interpretation is based on perception?

I am not evening talking of the photoshop techniques and the other fake stuff etc, that can be manufactured in photos according to one’s whims and fancies.

I am just talking about the simple and plain photo click on the street.

What is the truth in the above photo?

We see three individuals looking at those clothes.

Out of the three at least one must be the seller.

We see the two-wheeler with the varieties of clothes for sale.

By their appearance and behaviour or body language can you tell who the seller is and who the buyer is?

My friend, we are always fooled by our perceptions, strangely we think we are very intelligent in guessing.

“Your perception of the world around you is not necessarily the same as what actually is occurring” Peter Ralston, Laura Ralston

Let me see how our readers come out with their imagination.

Thank you.

  1. That’s an interesting photo for your Cellpic Sunday submission! My guess is that the people on the opposite side of the motorbike are the sellers, and they are helping the buyer (on this side of the bike) to load his purchase.
Thanks for participating in this week’s challenge, friend!

    1. Thank you John.

Thse seller is not there in the picture.

He has gone to have cup of tea in the nearby tea stall.

He has entrusted a mechanic to undertake a minor repair on his vehicle at the same Times keep an eye on the merchandise. The mechanic is half bent and attending to the work.

Mean while to different buyers one lady and a gentle man started checking the cloths to be purchased.

The seller soon joined and finished his deal with the buyers.

Thank you for the inspiration my friend
