Thursday Thoughts

“Motherhood is the great mesh in which all human relations are entangled, in which lurk our most elemental assumptions about love and power”  Adrienne Rich

I am unable to follow this quote.

Is this good or bad?

Can Love and Power go together?

Ours is an entangled life?

Somebody controlling somebody?

What are your thoughts on Adrienne Rich’s quote?

Thank you.

Namaste 🙏🙏🙏

I think she was saying that at an early age we learn first of love and power and this is then carried through the ages.. 🙏🏻

I think in life we are all controlled, it is in what spirit we accept that control!

Well I don’t think motherhood is the only place you learn about love and power. I’m guessing she meant mean that love and power, like love gives you power? Maybe?

Adrienne Rich was a great poet, a militant feminist, and an outspoken lesbian. Her views on motherhood obviously reflected her social and political views.
