A slice of a good life

“There are people in the world so hungry, that God cannot appear to them except in the form of bread.” Mahatma Gandhi

Bread is the simplest form of food.

Bread is a staple food.

There are more than 30 varieties of bread in the world.

Sadly we take bread for granted all the time

These days we are not giving much importance and respect to the bread-which it is supposed to command!

We forget that bread is a basic food worldwide

Bread plays an important role in religious rituals and cultural life.

Food riots are scary things and can start with a bread shortage.

It’s said bread shortage has ignited the French Revolution.

Bread is prepared from a dough of flour and water. And we waste water just like that.

Are you aware of the Egyptian proverb?

“Rather a piece of bread with a happy heart than wealth with grief.” Egyptian Proverb

The real King

“Bread is the king of the table and all else is merely the court that surrounds the king. The countries are the soup, the meat, the vegetables, the salad, but bread is king.”  Louis Bromfield

Can Bread be a Delicacy?

Yes. It is.

“Malta is the only country in the world where the local delicacy is the bread.”  Alan Coren

What about people wasting food?

Less said better.

In India, there is significant wastage of food during wedding times. India’s estimated 10 million weddings per year said to waste almost 30% of the food.

I am not sure about food being wasted in other countries.

“Throwing away food is like stealing from the table of those who are poor and hungry”  Pope Francis

Thank you.

Namaste 🙏🙏🙏

        1. Yes…Akismet has it own arithmetics and decides randomly, genuine comments as spam

So much to know about Artificial Intelligence.

My advice to the bloggers is to check your spam folder once in 10 days so that the genuine comments can be unspammed and one is sure to retain readership.

Many bloggers fail to follow this simple rule.
