Do you get angry just like that?
Everybody claims that he or she is not an angry person and claim that they never get angry.
We all know that it’s a lie.
Anger is a natural process. Nothing wrong with getting angry.
There is nothing good or bad about anger and anger is a healthy emotion.
The problem is with the intensity of your anger, and whether your anger is justified.
Remember in this world everybody is responsible for your anger other than yourself!
So it’s is meaningless to tax your good health with your justifiable or unjustifiable anger.
“Anybody can become angry — that is easy, but to be angry with the right person and to the right degree and at the right time and for the right purpose, and in the right way — that is not within everybody’s power and is not easy.” Aristotle
I have questions to ask
Are you the hot-tempered person reacting to everything / every situation good or bad, which you come across daily?
If so how long you hold to your angler?
Do you react immediately or afterwards?
Do you consider anybody stupid, because they test your anger management control?
I know I am asking too many questions.
What makes you angry?
Some time back I covered this topic slightly differently.
You can check the link, WHAT MAKES YOU ANGRY ?
What exactly happens if you hold on to your anger?
“Holding on to anger is like grasping hot charcoal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; You are the one who gets burned” Buddha
So how to let go of anger? ( Suppress it or let it out?)
You should never suppress anger.
But you can let go.
It’s not by shouting etc.
It’s very easy.
- Just move away from the place
- start counting numbers
- It is said one can release anger productively by exercises, deep breathing technique
- Learn to let go of the three important aspects- the situation, the feeling and the memory
- Never be aggressive
- Just think for a second, is it worthy to ruin the rest of your day
- Focus on the present and stay calm
- Most importantly my friend…Don’t take anything personally!
These things are easier said than done. One has to practice, practice and practice to manage anger.
Remember
“You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger” Buddha
Take home message
“The best fighter is never angry.”
