Opposites

“I found there was only one way to look thin, hang out with fat people”   Rodney Dangerfield

Though this may sound like a joke…I feel it’s sickening.

“Some people are fat, and some people are thin- so what? Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes and everybody is beautiful in their own ways”  Unknown

Everybody is beautiful in their own ways

What a perfect sentence!!

But none willing to listen.

The irony is humans have avulsion to good things in life?

My dear friend, there is no such thing called ‘a perfect body’.

All are just our perceptions.

Of course, we also have to care about what the medical world says about overweight and obesity.

The point I am stressing is not to be ashamed of our bodies.

We can not change the world instantly.

The world is obsessed with its own set of standards.

The best example I can give is ‘Slim is beautiful & Fair is lovely’ Who has decided this??

Don’t become a victim of your own making!

Women are conditioned by those repeated advertisements and start believing the unrealistic standards of beauty. Some may even get depressed for no fault of theirs.

But we can change our attitude and it’s high time that we stop, stereotyping human bodies.

Don’t become a victim because of bullying

You must be a strong-willed person. Otherwise you land into

  • Depression
  • Eating disorders
  • Low self-esteem

“Speak to your body in a loving way. It’s the only one you’ve got, it’s your home, and it deserves your respect.”  Iskra Lawrence

What is body positivity?

‘Body positivity refers to the assertion that all people deserve to have a positive body image, regardless of how society and popular culture view ideal shape, size, and appearance’. source-verywellmind.com

Let us not judge people by race, gender, sexuality, disability and appearance.

Let us not pass judgments.

Social media is a double edged weapon

It can have both positive and negative consequences.

“There is nothing wrong with your body, but there is a lot wrong with the messages which try to convince you otherwise”  Rae Smith

Take home message

“You don’t need an excuse to feel good about yourself.”   Olakemi

Please share your thoughts.

Thank you.

My hope for humans is that we can learn to see all types of beauty.
