Do you overthink?

“Unease, anxiety, tension, stress, worry – all forms of fear – are caused by too much future, and not enough presence” Eckhart Tolle

What is overthinking?

Overthinking is the act of thinking about something too much or for too long.

Are you the type who constantly overthink?

If the answer is ‘Yes’… Then I am afraid most of the situations, you are stuck in inaction.

My friend overthinking Rob’s you of joy forever and you forget to live in the present.

“If you treat every situation as a life and death matter, you’ll die a lot of times.”
Dean Smith

Is overthinking justified?

Not at all.

And there is no need to overthink.

Heavens are not going to fall.

Is overthinking being bad?

It’s bad 100% my friend.

Overthinking is associated with negative thoughts, anxieties and mental health issues.

Remember that it’s a lifelong nuisance if you indulge in overthinking.

What exactly happens if one overthinks?

  • First and foremost, you can’t have a peaceful sleep
  • You can land up with mental problems like anxiety disorders and depression
  • There will be a change in your personality. You become irritable quickly
  • Your Blood Pressure increases that can cause kidney damage over time.
  • You start losing your ability in decision-making
  • And you are always worried about what happens next

A request

Stop overthinking about anything, come whatever may!

I can give you the simplest example.

When you are in the blogosphere especially, stop overthinking about the number of followers and likes and ignore the statistics and start enjoying your writing skills.

“Overthinking will destroy your happiness and your mood.

It will make everything worse than it actually is.

Take a deep breath, exhale and have faith.

What is meant to be will be”.

My take on overthinking

Overthinking creates more problems than solutions.

“Overthinking is like a rocking chair- it gives us something to do, but doesn’t take us anywhere” Unknown

And in the end

“Where does a thought go when it’s forgotten” Sigmund Freud

So much for your overthinking.

Take care my friend.

Thank you.

  1. My grandpa was always saying, when a irritating thought comes to him, he trashes it immediately. One practical way can be to ask ourselves this question when a thought comes to us over and over again: Is this thought useful? what is it trying to say?
