“We in the richest societies have too many calories even as we starve for beautiful, fresh food;
we have overly large houses but lack spaces that truly embody our individuality and connectedness;
Media surrounds us everywhere while we starve for authentic communication.
We are offered entertainment every second of the day but lack the chance to play.
In the ubiquitous realm of money, we hunger for all that is intimate, personal, and unique.”
Charles Eisenstein
Where things going wrong?
“When women suffer, marriages suffer.
When marriages suffer, children suffer.
When children suffer, families suffer.
When families suffer, communities suffer.
When communities suffer, societies suffer.
When societies suffer, nations suffer.
When nations suffer, the world suffers.
When the world suffers, God suffers.”
Regarding the last sentence in Matshona Dhliwayo quote- he talks of God suffering, I am not sure what he wishes to convey.Probably he means that people lose faith in God.

Thank you.

Yes..our world is circling with this disaster and our brains.
Abba
Money, money, money
Must be funny
In the rich man’s world
Money, money, money
Always sunny
In the rich man’s world
Aha aha
All the things I could do
If I had a little money
It’s a rich man’s world
It’s a rich man’s world

I also immediately thought of the song. Beautiful quotes, dear friend, but I disagree with the way you have interpreted that last line. We believe that G-d is our Father and we are His children. A Father will always suffer when His children are suffering. By the same token, as we should aim to please our parents, we should strive to please our Heavenly Father.

Thank you Dolly.
Couldn’t agree more.
Life changes as times change and taste also changes.
Regarding ‘God Suffers’ in that quote….. actually I was confused as to what the authour of the quote was conveying.
But with your excellent explanation I understood the true meaning.
Thank you for spreading the wisdom

I think what they mean is that God doesn’t want his children to suffer. He wants his children to be happy and thrive. When they suffer it makes him sad. Because it all comes down to individual choice and accountability. The individual choices are what allow us to choose God or to choose the things that make the world suffer. Too few people choose God anymore.
