The moment I noticed this fly, I got attracted, and why it is so?
“Colour is a power which directly influences the soul” Wassily Kandinsky
Is this not true?
All of us wish to lead our lives colorfully!
I got attracted to this fly because of its flashy colors.
About Condylostylus
It’s a genus of flies with more than 250 species.
The fly is said to be seen during June and August.
Its eyes can be green or red.
Thorax and Body color can be green or bronze.
These flies have long legs.
The fly is a predator for small plant insects like mites.
This fly measures 6 mm.
Said to be harmless to humans even help us by getting rid of the pests!
What is the human reaction whenever a fly is spotted?
And who got time to check whether the fly spotted is harmless or harmful or helpful?
Humans are experts in killings/destruction.
“I ask people why they have deer heads on their walls. They always say because it’s such a beautiful animal. There you go. I think my mother is attractive, but I have photographs of her.”
Humans are always itching for something!
Whatever is available to us at that moment we try to swat and kill it.
We even don’t mind using our hands to kill it.
“No doubt, humans will do a lot of damage before we ultimately destroy ourselves. But life will continue without humans. New forms of intelligence will emerge long after this human experiment is over.”
Zeena Schreck
Nature does its best to save the human race. But are we listening?
Do you know that insects are the ‘Unsung Heroes’ running your world?
Yes, my friend.
Unfortunately, the general impression given is that insects are disease-carrying and crop-eating demons.
The harmful insects form a tiny portion of the vast insect world.
Do you know that if at all we are existing it’s because of these insects?
They help to pollinate plants, also keep the population of agricultural pests under control, even help decomposition of animal waste.
Check this link, if you find time WHAT OUR WORLD LOOK WITHOUT HONEY BEES?🐝
When a Bee can do this free social service, imagine the role of other insects for our very survival!!
Is it moral or immoral to kill a fly?
I don’t know. You can share your views.
It’s up to the individual decision I guess.
But still, insects are beautiful!
My experience in Photographing this particular fly
I noticed that this fly moves fast and jumps quickly, and I found it is very difficult to photography it especially with a Macro Lens.
PS- if I am missing any information about this fly, please free to correct me. I am not an expert in Fly taxonomy
Thank you.

Beautiful photograph and post. I would say that the intention behind killing a fly matters. Intention… just a suggestion!

Thank you my friend.
My guess is phobia results in intention.
If only one gets rid of phobia……

We have been taught to believe flies are dirty and bad, we have a warped perception of things sadly..

Couldn’t agree more my friend.
All boils down to truth vs beliefs

Indeed. Once we surpass beliefs this we will see truth.. that the fly is thyself.
